Hi all,

Looking into a pram suitable for the above. I live on a farm and do alot of dog walking, although I think I will be using a sling for the dog walking I would like to purchase a pram that would be suitable for walking on rough tracks, fields etc.

So far these are on my 'to try' list:
Baby Jogger Summit
Mothercare Xpedior (3 wheeler) - Seems to good to be true £250 with car seat & muff!?
Out n About Nipper

Does anyone have any opinions/experience with any of these or can recommend something else? Budget depends on what's included but max would be £500 (including car seat, cot, muff).

Thanks!

I love my trider. Never had a problem 'offroading'. And the puncture proof tires are amazing, I pulled a nail out of one a few weeks ago and it didnt need any repair, whereas a friend of mine got stuck in a field when she had a puncture (with a different pram).

I have the old style mountain buggy, it's fabulous! I also have the baby jogger summit, would personally say it's not as good off road as the mountain buggy and is very heavy when lifting into a boot, but it's still a good off roader. Have heard great things about BOB though.

hmmm...the Jane trider has some good deals on ATM you can get it with the Matrix light for £650.....doubles as a carrycot.

Mountain Buggy is my favourite ever.

We have an O&A nipper as well which is great but has no storage

If anyone is in the South East and wants an old Easylife Sport, PM me - we've had it for years!

The deal we found on the Trider came with the Transporter 2 carry cot which has high safety ratings for car use and was great as we did lots of long journeys when DS was tiny and couldn't be in a car seat for long periods.

Another vote for the Jane Trider. I have a very small build and was worried about being able to manouvere it but it's a dream, really easy to turn and push, even over fought terrain. Very happy with it. Got a good deal by shopping around, doing a price match and buying an older model.

I bought a nipper for this reason. Needed to dog walk across fields and we live on a farm. I used a sling to start with but moved onto the nipper. When DD got heavier. It's the best thing Ive bought. It's very light and moves well over rough fields as well as down the driveway. I would recommend.

I've seen a few comments here regarding Jane Crosswalk, so I feel obliged to write abut my experience.

We have recently Purchased a Jané Crosswalk 'travel system' for rather a lot of money, and we are extremely disappointed.

The biggest issue we have experienced, is the front wheels steering by themselves, and locking in a turned position, which can be incredibly dangerous when using the pram on a pavement near a road.

Additionally the supplied wrist strap is now fraying at the stitches and cannot be trusted.

We have been in touch with www.samueljohnston.com our Jane reseller, who have offered to expedite the repair process, but this will still leave us without a stroller for up to 5 days, effectively grounded.
Samuel Johnston have informed us that Jane will not provide a loan chassis to customers with faulty units.

For this reason, along with the dangers of using it, I am now faced with the prospect of buying a completely new travel system, as Jane seats and carry cots will not work in any other prams.

It is possible that the rather heavy Jané Transporter 2 is to blame for our issues, as the transporter does now seem to be angled rather a lot (up at head end, down at foot end), suggesting the weight of the unit has caused the chassis fittings to flex. However, the transporter was sold with the crosswalk, so it should really work.

I'd be interested to hear from any other mums/dads who have experienced similar issues.

See our youtube video here for how this stroller performs.

From what I have seen online, I'm certainly not the only p[erson to have experienced this issue.
