Help me choose a Mutsy please!

Can anyone help me choose between all the different Mutsys please?

I think the old 4rider single spoke has bigger air wheels, but the evo and the urban rider seem pretty identical - what's the difference between them!?

There's also the Igo which has a different chassis to the evo and urban (looks more like the 4rider single spoke) and it seems to cost several hundred pounds more!?

I can't find any side by side comparisons / specifications even on the mutsy website.

I would ideally like (and be willing to pay extra for) the sturdiest option with the biggest carrycot. I want to be able to do light off-roading (woodland paths / parks not jogging)

My 2 sons are very big for their ages - 96th and 98th centiles so I assume the one I;m currently expecting will be similarly large! I don't drive so tend to use the buggy until they are 3+ as we walk a lot (so seat needs to be big)

Some pics here - www.babybirds.co.uk/index.php?route=product/search&filter_name=mutsy&limit=75&page=2

Any help / personal experiences gratefully received, thank you!

With a history of big babies I would look at the bj versa gt for the off roading. Maybe the easywalker mini or mosey if you don't mind the tuck away hood.

MrsRuby · 06/01/2015 23:40

Thank you Ihateparties - I have looked at the BJversa a lot and I like it's sturdiness but not it's bucket seat (prefer lie flat option on the seat)

I'm not ruling it out altogether though, it's just not my number one choice.

Am also considering the Mosey (I actually love it but it's a bit pricier than Mutsy)

Anyone understand the Mutsy differences please!?

Don't think there are many, the 4 rider seat doesn't go flat (or didn't when last I looked which was a few years ago) the i-go and evo do. The I-go is the newest and only most recent models have suspension. The 4 rider light had/has Eva wheels, the 4 rider has the air wheels. Um.. Now I'm stuck.

What about a casualplay kudu 3?

MrsRuby · 07/01/2015 09:20

Thank you again Ihateparties! Haven't looked at the kudu until now and it does look nice but I cannot get on with 3 wheels. This is why it's so difficult to find something that ticks all my boxes as I know most 'off road' buggies don't have the 4 wheels I want! Think I will get my colouring pens out and make a comparison chart of all the mutsys!

I can't compare them but do have a Mutsy Igo air. It has been great except for needing a bit of effort going up kerbs. The recline is excellent and it feels very solid and good quality. I am probably going to have to sell mine as we will need a double soon and I have seen them come up quite cheap on eBay so it's worth considering secondhand.

Thank you silversixpence - lovely to hear a personal review.

Will have a squizz on ebay as there might be some different pics to help me decide!

Thanks again :-)

I had a 4 Rider single spoke briefly as it turned out to have a faulty handlebar and managed to fold with my then 10 week old inside so didn't trust them to give me a replacement.

The seat was huge, lay flat and did look comfy especially with an added nest to cosy in newborns. It looked lovely and sleek but I really didnt like the cheap plastic leather on the handle and it was heavy to get up/down kerbs so I wouldn't even approach it if you need to bump up/down steps at home everyday. I liked the fact that the hood provided lots of coverage and the handle went really high (my friends 6"5 DH was amazed as he could push it easily without kicking the wheels or slouching) but otherwise I didn't like it.

This thread is a bit old but I thought I'd add some info. There are no differences between the various models within each range, other than fabric/colours. The Igo Lite is the same as the Igo Pure is the same as the Igo Nomad, just with colour/fabric options, and it's the same with the Evo.

The Igo comes with a choice of air or foam filled tyres, so appears to be the one to go for if you intend to offroad a bit. I'm hoping to view them side by side this week.
