Best Travel System For £500 And Less

Hi,

I've been trying my upmost to research all travel systems under £500, comparing them on all specifications such as weight, manoeuvrability, accessories and ease of use.

I am looking for a four piece set if possible including the following: carrycot (with handles), baby car seat, and pushchair facilities. The car seat should ideally be compatible with an isofix base.

So far I have read many conflicting reviews of all travel systems that include these facilities. I do not mind if I have to purchase one of the listed above separately as long as it does not take me over my £500 guideline.

Colour and patterns are not of upmost importance, neither is an all terrain system necessary as most transport will be done by car or on concrete pathways. Can anyone shed some light on these for me please and possibly give me any recommendations. I was settled on the Graco Quattro Deluxe System but have since read some awful reviews. Even my friend who works in baby fashion buying finds it as much of a mindfield.

All information would be greatly appreciated as I am seriously in muddy water and getting more lost the more I look.

Not sure if this will help you but I got mine (babyjogger versa) at a baby show with a hefty 35% discount.

So what was once out of my budget was suddenly affordable

Britax B Agile

I'm up with a poorly wee one and decided to snoop about online. A friend of mine has the B Agile and loves it.

It folds with one hand, is light enough to chuck in and out of the boot without too much effort, the hood is pretty big, it includes raincover, the soft carrycot is snuggly but you can get a hard one too although I'm not sure it has handles, the car seat is roomy for a taller baby, clicks on and off the frame easily and its isofix compatible.

You do need to buy a footmuff separately though but you can pay as little or as much as you want for one of those, personally I like the Buggysnuggle or Jane nest as they are huge and you can pick them up quite cheaply on Ebay.

The shopping basket I've linked too includes everything you'd need for the travel system to last birth-walking plus isofix base :)

I had a silver cross which had all of your criteria. However, even though I loved that pram I wouldn't get a travel system again. I only used the carry cot for 6 months till Ds could sit up and the car seat I only used for 9 months until he was too big for it. This time round I'm going for a 0-4 years car seat and a wrap , or use my Phil and Teds with a new born insert.
Also if you do get a travel system and have to use buses then see how well they fold down!

Actually that's a good point batteryhen.

I guess it depends what you want from the travel system though, second time round I had a pushchair (baby jogger city mini) that the car seat (maxi cosi cabriofix) could clip onto if required which was handy on the few occasions we used this set up but the pushchair itself isn't bulky at all and I would've got the carrycot had it been our main pram to make it more enclosed.

The B Agile is a fully lay flat pushchair with the option to add car seat as opposed to a bog hulking Graco type thing.

My silver cross was second hand and whilst I loved it I would have been a bit miffed if I had paid full price as I don't think I would have got my money's worth.
I do love the micralite push chair though. You can get the carry cot aspect and adaptors for a car seat. It's so light you can lift it one handed :)
