Bugaboo bee plus or bee3

I have read reviews suggesting that some of the recent changes have not been so positive, for instance the seat fabric making it difficult to reverse the seat direction. Does anyone have experience of the two? Which model do you prefer in terms of ease of use / overall experience using?

The Bugaboo Bee Plus has a much better, more nicely finished seat unit. The new Bee3 seat unit is messy. It gets in the way when trying to remove / turn the seat around. We even got our seat unit jammed at the weekend because the foam hadn't all been pushed through to the front before turning the seat around. There is no comparison with the old and new. The Bee Plus wins by a mile.
However, the Bee3 chassis is more sturdy - although I was surprised to find that it still leans around corners more than I hoped.
Honestly, I would leave the Bee's and look at a Raspberry or an Easywalker Mosey. I got all 3 out this weekend to have a good look at, and there was no doubt that the Bee was the hardest of the 3 to use, to open, to close, to turn the seat around etc. but it also looked the most untidy - and I suspect is the most expensive. It isn't worth the money now IMHO.

Thanks for this. I will look again at the mosey, just put off by not being able to try it first. Can you tell me what the lowest useable handle bar height is. I like bugaboos because they are low. Thanks again.

Zozo - I've had a June and currently have a mini so unless the mosey is massively different, it is a brilliant buggy. The lowest handle setting is really low. Probably even too low to push but it needs to be set on the lowest setting for folding.

I had a bee + before the Easywalker and did like it (only got rid because it wouldn't fit in my boot) but used my friend's one recently and it felt really flimsy in comparison.

The Mosey handle is like the Mini and the June and is very low - lower than my infant sized daughter needs to push it! It is probably comparable to the lowest setting on the Bee.
The Mosey is even better than the Mini, Hiccup.....much better. Much more user friendly. Everything is easy peasy to use. If you haven't seen a Mosey, then try to, because you will be shocked at how different everything is, even though it looks similar.

Eek, don't tell me that!! Maybe I'll wait until I can pick one up secondhand Grin

What sort of things are improved? My only gripe with the mini is that the hood is quite small. However, it's by no means a big deal...I think it's just because my other buggy is a city select with its massive hoods!! I wonder if I could fix one onto the mini :))

What's improved - nearly everything!
Bolt upright and also a lie flat seat! Yes...thats enough to start with!
One handed fold - yes...one handed!
Fold in either direction - still one handed!
The seat pops off with a simple pull of a cord! One handed!
The seat drops on (probably one handed but two is easier) straight away - no faffing to line things up!
The hood is absolutely huge - the same hood with a visor but also a zip out rear section.
The seat recline is done via a bar behind the hood (which still moves up and down and tucks away).
Lift up and down calf rest.
Improved raincover
Swing away, included bumper bar - folds in situ and works in both directions.
Hmm...anything else?
Oh yes, bag hooks on the handles....
And it folds with the carrycot on (which can be folded down flat)

The downsides:
The seat isn't quite as deep though...but still good.
There is no liner included.
Errrm those aren't much. It's pretty perfect to be honest.

HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 23/10/2014 22:54

Hmm, interesting :))

Maybe I'll add a mosey to my eBay saved search list for 6 months' time Grin

Bag hooks would be a definite bonus...I've just bought bugaboo ones but don't think they'll be much use.

I find the seat positions fine, tbh. I read on an eBay listing that you can do something to make seat more upright...think the modification had come directly from easywalker.

One handed fold would make life easier and being able to recline from the back of the seat unit sounds better. As does the bigger hood Smile
