Please recommend me a Buggy Board

I have a Maclaren XLR and a three year old(almost) and another baby on the way. Id like to add a buggy board onto the XLR and would love to have one come highly recommended. DD is a great walker, however we will be doing a lot more once the baby comes so itd be nice to have the option for her to ride on the back if tired.

I have only really used lascal boards, they seem to fit anything that is remotely suitable for taking a board plus they clip on and off easily and aren't noisy.

When you have the xlr seat fully reclined for the newborn I think you will have to set the board quite far back, which isn't much fun for walking behind. The mini is probably better weight wise but with the maxi you can put your feet under it as you walk, which makes things easier.

Oh, I do have the carrycot with plans to use that most of the time so maybe the maxi is better so I can walk a bit easier

I can't quite visualise it, the only remotely similar thing I have is a joovy groove and it's quite back heavy with the board on, even with the seat fully upright. Have you any nursery shops nearby where they might let you try one on your pushchair? I can take a pic of the maxi on the joovy if that helps, to get an idea of how much space you would have to walk behind?

We borrowed a Xlr on holiday and it was a nightmare to push alone compare to out bugaboo with board, so I'm afraid I probably wouldn't recommend a board with it

A buggy board generally works best when pram parent faces as then babies head is opposite side so not in the way of board

I would be tempted to just buy a decent sling and use with baby if eldest gets tired and needed pram

Yeah I am contemplating a close caboo, then dd can buggy it and ill sling the baby -at least with the XLR it lies totally flat so I dont need the carrycot all the time.

Take a look at the new boba 4g sling. Takes newborn but also takes toddler on back after. So can choose to sling eldest if baby is asleep etc

Dh carried our eldest 4 1/2 year old in it fine still the other week through LA airport after he fell asleep on plane and he still fitted so would def get monies worth (£90-100 ish). We use for 3 year old for on tube home if out late in eve usually or long haul flights ( have no pram now) and he sleeps in it comfy enough.
