Hi

I love the look of the new raspberry but am concerned by the lack of carrycot as it just has a newborn pod that you strap baby into. Anyone got any views on this? Baby due December so will be cold too!! Considering bee 3 instead as it has the bassinet to put them in

I wasn't sure about this either so spoke to my local nursery shop - they were really positive about the icandy raspberry especially as the newborn pod can be attached securely to the seat but also as you can take off the hood and front and use it as a liner too! They also said the raspberry is a bit easier to fold than a bugaboo bee, even the new one.

Awesome thanks Jen, I really love the look of it and from what I saw in the demo, my only concern was not having a carrycot with it

Yes it is safe with the newborn pod. Its a sensible option really as it is a pushchair which will last you long beyond the first 6 'carrycot' months, and yet be small enough that you never want to ditch it for an umbrella fold.

The new Bee is no different to the old Bee for folding. The Bee is easy enough to fold, but harder to open, especially parent facing. However the Bee3 seat / new hoods are messy. The Bee Plus is much smarter and better finished. However the push and chassis are better on the Bee3.
I really don't like the Bee3. I will be selling it soon.

Tiggy why don't you like the Bee 3? I was considering that too as very similar to icandy raspberry...

I don't like the new seats. The old Bee Plus seats were well finished and smart. Bugaboo have decided to give you the plastic shell with a bit of back padding attached to the harness, and then a thinnish foam liner to slap on top! WTF?!!?? That isn't a seat! I have never seen any other pushchair with a seat so rudimentary as the new Bee3 one. Not only that, but it looks a total mess. The seat creases really badly from new. It doesn't fit round the sides. When you extend and then contract the seat, the liner forms a mini mountain in your child's back. How uncomfortable must that be if you have been sat up after a nap, and your mum has just pushed the seat back in so that you can put your legs on the footrest? (We do this all the time).
When you try to change the seat around, the foam sticking out of the back of the seat in the shortest mode obstructs the seat rotation mechanism, so the only way to get the seat back on is to push the foam back to the front, and then rearrange after.

Then there is the flappy hood. It is thin floppy jersey material. It flaps around your child's head. It even flaps in front of their faces if you open the wrong hood section. The fabric allows the child to play with the hood and move it a long way side to side which gets super annoying and it looks messy. The child can poke their arms through the fabric - its like some strange shadow puppet game - but its not what I want from a very expensive stroller.

The crotch strap is much longer, but the shoulder straps are very short. My child can't get a winter coat, never mind a footmuff on with the current short shoulder straps.

The chassis is LOADS better though. It is pretty sturdy although still leans into corners a bit - but at least all 4 wheels are now on the ground. It feels a bit heavier to push but the push is nice.

Perfection would be the Bee3 chassis with the Bee Plus seat.....but even then I wouldn't buy it. Its still difficult to open parent facing - I haven't worked out why, but I would say it was even harder than the Bee Plus. The brake seems nearer the seat.

I know some people love the Bee3 - and if you have just spent the best part of £600 on one, then you are going to be defensive. But I can't wait to get rid of mine, and another pramaholic friend has already sold hers. There is better on the market, which look smarter and better thought out.
