Am I mad or will this work? Bugaboo bee with different wheels

I was hoping the new bee would have the option of all terrain wheels which I could have put on my bee+ as the current ones are rubbish except on a smooth surface but despite lots of suggestions for it bugaboo are not doing that.

So I was wondering if I could replace the tyres on the bee+ with something like this which might be a bit better on the very bumpy pavements and grass that we have around here.

What do people think? Has anyone tried it?

How are you proposing to attach them? By removing bee wheels at the axle? I don't know how it could work, maybe if you had access to some specialist or more heavy duty equipment maybe you could make something but it could be a very pricy experiment..

Won't work the Bee wheels move differently for a smooth ride.

Yes I was going to remove the tyre at the axle and replace it with one that was a bit more rugged. I wouldn't be touching the suspension. Was hoping it would look a bit like this if I can find a tyre the same size

I like the idea. Finding the wheels probably won't be easy as you're going to need the same size or smaller realistically. I'm going to whisper easywalker mini or mosey then casually wander of...

Lol. I know there are other pushchairs and i like the ones you mentioned, I just didn't want to buy yet another pushchair (4 others are in the garage) when the bee meets nearly all of my requirements - lightweight, parent facing, lie flat seat, one piece fold. At least bugaboo are doing an extended hood which will fit. That was also on my wish list! If I can find tyres I might give it a go.

I wouldnt swap wheels around. There was sniff of Bugaboo doing all terrain wheels for the Bee - I wouldnt be surprised if they did one day, but TBH I would be buying a different pushchair if its for a Bee+ because the light, wobbly chassis annoyed me more than the wheels. I can't wait for the more sturdy Bee3.

The new bee does look nice and I agree the Bee+ is a bit rickety but not sure I can justify spending that sort of money on a new one when the wheels look the same. I've got a city mini gt for more off road walking but miss parent facing and found the versa too heavy.

Out of interest - does the easywalker mosey have a bucket or lie flat seat? It's hard to tell in the photos but it is the closest pushchair to my ideal one.

If you swap the whole wheel then the brakes won't work. I guess if you could get the tyres off and change for the exact same diameter and width without trashing the wheel that might be ok. Mine is a 2009 model, and is hopeless off road because of how manoeuvreable the front swivel wheels are. They do recommend locking them for gravel / snow. I've not tried as I use a Phil and teds for this. But have you tried that?

bonzo yes locking them is a bit better but still found it quite hard going. I know it is designed as an urban pushchair, I just wanted to see if I could stick with one pushchair instead of multiple ones!

Does anybody know the spec for the tyres or where is it possible to get just tires without plastic in UK? will be very grateful for the advice. Thank you.
