I've got 2 prams with air tyres (single and double) if found that if you put the green goo stuff that fills any punctures immediately in them then I don't have any problems, before that one of my tyres blew down a lot

The only time I had trouble with our air tyres was when the buggy was in the boot when we had a minor car crash (someone ran up the back of me). We got a puncture in one of the tyres and needed to replace the inner tube.

Otherwise, the only thing we've had to do is occasionally (like once every 6 months) pump up the tyre with a bike pump.

ive just read up on the slime stuff from halfords if i bought a babystyle prestige and put the slime in the tyres straight away would it stop them from puncturing ? i dont want to spend £600 on a travel system for the tyres to go on it

Just had our first puncture after 7 years. It was easy to find replacement inner tubes and also tyres online. Love having the big wheels, so easy to push.

I second the slime. 1 puncture in 6 years.

I know that why i love to idea of my DS being up high next to me boucing along happily im looking at a silvercross kensington too but the prestige is only £604 3 in 1 where as the kensington is £1,250 for just the pram either way i want a high up bouncy pram Smile i think id cry if i got a puncture outside with DH not there to help me though especially in the first few months when im still hormonal

The 1 puncture I had was actually pre-slime, it's shat promptedmevto get some slime. No punctures post-sliming.

Meglet · 19/06/2014 06:32

We managed a puncture a year with ours (glass and thorns). But it's easily sorted. Cycle shops sell and fit the inner tubes.

JontyMyers · 19/06/2014 06:43

would it be ok to put slime into the tubes rpe puncture though ? also looking at the bebecar grand pram now too with out air tryes but still the same bouncy ride Smile

The whole point is to put slime in pre puncture. We still had a tyre that kept going down even after slime but we used it a lot off road. My guess is if you have a big bouncy pram, you'll be using it on pavements so shouldbe fine.

kiwiscantfly · 19/06/2014 06:59

The only puncture I've had was when I put pushchair in the car and the difference in temperature, (-0c outside and very warm in the car) caused the tyre to explode, it sounded like a gun going off in the car park at the super market.
