Bee or raspberry?

Want Need a lightweight parent facing pram for holiday in Sept, would the bee be better or raspberry? Can't quite figure out pros and cons of them!

Also, is pram insured on plane? Is it better to keep it to the gate rather than checking in as hold luggage?

Sorry I don't know what you mean by the raspberry, unless you mean the old icandy raspberry?? Another suggestion could be the Mamas and Papas Armadillo.

The Bee is very expensive for what it is if you ask me. Its easy to fold and has a biggish canopy, but would be pretty useless on anything but a flat surface. So thats a no no to taking it on the beach. Its quite light to push, but I found it a bit too light. As in it had a mind of its own, always put the brakes on!

Up to you of course but those are some pretty expensive options for purely a holiday pram!

We have taken our Bee on several flights. We put it in a protective bag to stop too many bashes but that's a bit of a pain tbh as you have to take the wheels off and the bag is a tight fit. It would be much easier to have a cheapy that we don't care about. That's what I'd do if just buying something specifically for holiday.

No idea about insurance - it's presumably covered under your travel insurance if baggage is included in the cover? And yes it's best to keep it all the way to the gate - it's a long way to carry/shepherd your child otherwise, plus you can use it to transport some of your carryon clobber.

Tiggy says the Raspberry is sturdier than the Bee and more robust. Also I have read the bee is fiddly to use, hard to turn the seat round etc. and this put me off it.

I need want a Raspberry too!

If it is for a holiday have you looked at the babyzen yoyo?

Rockchick1984 · 15/06/2014 07:59

Thanks for the advice. Haz does the yoyo parent face? I know it seems a lot for a holiday buggy but it'll get used still afterwards - the holiday is just the excuse for buying another pram :)

For a bit but not forever.

Oh what about the phil and ted smart lux? Cheaper then the bee, pretty light weight to rear face you have to to unclip and then fold (will still be a single fold) and will take a child up to 20 kilos.

Yes, it's a real pain to change the Bee seat from r facing to f facing or vice versa. Not one to choose if you'd be doing that frequently.

I was thinking about getting the raspberry for our holiday to Tenerife in August as it looks beautiful (and my peach maybe too heavy for the beach!) Does anyway one know when its out?
