hi has anyone used the obaby 4S or mamba ?? there is only 1 review for the mamba on mothercare and it seems big im only 4"11 so it might be too tall for me. also like the new sola's and urbo's M&P have brought out has anyone got these yet ? advice appreciated :) i like the mamba because its like the uppababy vista but its only £499.00 plan on buying a cybex/cosi seat separately and 4S looks chunky and well built but on the other hand Sola/Urbo are lightweight and look easier to use but heard bad things about them and the M&P customer service

I've only used the m&p sola and I love it! Easy to clean, lightweight, opens and closes easily, can easily change to have baby facing you/away, can be used from birth due to flat lying down position. Wheels come off easily to clean. Handlebar can be pushed easily with one hand and has two height positions. Manoveres really easily around corners. Fits through shop doors.

3 of my friends have bought it and been very happy with it due to my recommendation!

Some downsides are it is tricky to fit in a small car boot, I have a ford fiesta and have to make sure nothing else is in there. There's no handle to carry it once it's flat, that would've been useful. And no coffee cup holder!! Health and safety I guess!

M&p have been really good, my wheels came out of alignment after 2 years, just went into a store and they fixed it. Depends which member of staff you get, some are really well trained.

I love my Sola. It has more than 2 handle heights (but it's the old model) and fits out maxi cosi pebble on easily with adaptors. Really easy to 'drive' except I tend to crash going round corners as the back wheels are further out.

anyone used the ABC design brand they are associated with OBABY not actually OBABY as i first thought Confused their Mamba travel system has only just been brought out but i love how similar it is to the UppaBaby Vista and the Condor 4S is a 2012/13 model i think

The vista is a relative of the b dual (possibly why you liked the b dual??), the brio sing, the lorelli Carrera 4, there are lots and lots of derivatives around. I don't know whose was the original design but many pushchairs share a basics with the vista. Ditto rebranding of the same pushchairs, abc, obaby.. They're the same pushchairs sold under different brands in different countries.

hedwiggity · 29/05/2014 18:19

Never heard of those brands and if it isn't sold in an actual shop i wouldn't buy it i.e. mothercare M&P etc its just too dangerous buying unknown brands from the EU

Obaby and abc pushchairs are the same afaik, sold as obaby in the uk and abc in Europe, wasn't that your original question? Like britax is britax in the uk but the same pushchairs are sold under the steelcraft brand in Australia. All I was really saying is if you see things around that look similar to the vista because they use the same parts/frame etc.

hedwiggity · 29/05/2014 21:01

but they won't have the same safety regs ? which is why the price is always shockingly low i saw one on amazon ago called the uber something and it was £160 for an entire set Confused id only buy a travel system from a reputable retailer these unknown brands are scary IMO
going to go to mothercare and check out this mamba system it might be cheaper to get a vista once we add in the accessories im totally in love with the vista

I don't know, possibly not depending on the source I guess, that one I linked to does according to their website. Uk testing includes fire retardancy, that's generally the part that's missing if a pram isn't intended for sale in the uk specifically.

In theory if it's on sale in this country is has to meet EN1888-2012 or the British standard it replaced, which I've forgotten the number of, that includes used prams too.

I've just looked at the mamba again, it's definitely a whole lot of vista, if it's cheaper, which it seems to be and you can buy it somewhere you're happy with then from the looks of it you would be getting almost the same product. Grin Like the brio sing and the b dual it's 67cm wide though, dunno if that bothers you? Fwiw I had a brio smile at the start of last year which also sits on basically a Vista chassis but with a different seat and wheels and it was absolutely lovely to push.
