Silver Cross Wayfarer - any thoughts?

Hi Everyone,

We have spent the weekend looking at prams/buggies and narrowed it down to the Silver Cross Wayfarer I think. We have looked at a range of reviews, so I am just wondering if anyone has used one or has any thoughts on how good it is?

It is for DC1 for us, due in November. We live fairly rurally on a military base, so we need something which can survive dodgy pavements and countryish walks but also trips into town etc. We are planning to get a maxicosi isofix car seat with it which fits into the chassis. We need it to have adjustable handles as DH is quite a bit taller than me, and I'm taken with it because it is quite light because I have back problems so can't pick up anything particularly heavy.

Thanks for any thoughts!

I don't think it's suitable for dodgy pavements and country walks really, imo you need better suspension and better wheels. Have you seen anything else that you like? I saw a pioneer the other day, which would be more suitable given you like the wayfarer but it's considerably wider, possibly heavier though I'm not sure.

Hmm, the wheels are what I am concerned about with it. We quite like the Graco Evo XT but I was put off because it was very wide in comparison and thus heavier.

How about the easywalker mini or mosey? Light and narrow but robust enough for a bit of light off road is a little bit the impossible dream.

I am going to have a look at the Easywalkers, thanks for that suggestion. As you say, it is a bit of an impossible dream to find the pram that does everything but is light and narrow!

I have just come across the Silver Cross Pioneer online which I am hopeful about, so will see if I can find one to look at as well.

Our smallish local mothercare had the pioneer this week, that's where I saw it so should be easy enough to track down. Easywalkers are another level of difficult to find.

Fwiw lots of people want what you want (I'm obsessed wih narrow pushchairs and live in a cobbly place) and in 6 years of looking the easywalker mini is the closest thing to the brief I have found. Except I don't have one because it's £600 and dc3 was rapidly approaching 2 when it came out.

You could also look at the oyster 2 with possibly the air tyre kit (rear wheels only) as that's definitely smallish and lightish.
