Cosatto Giggle Travelsystem - AVOID at all costs !!!!!!!

Sorry in advance for being a bit ranty, but im annoyed and pregnant and hungry - a dangerous combination!

So I fell in love with the giggle all star and we purchased it in March (despite not being due til August, helllooooo eager beaver)

I was a bit bored so decided to look at reviews online and was appalled that they are basically falling apart with peoples babies in, had I known, I would have never bought the bloody thing.
Thought I would check my batch number to see if mine was faulty, typed it into the official Cosatto website and it said, no its fine and NOT affected.
Didnt trust this and decided to email them anyway to double check.
Got an email back from a customer service manager Clare this morning saying actually yes, it is affected and you need to send the chassis back for repair.

Now im pissed off as the website said it was fine when actually its not fine and it would seem their concern for safety is pretty small.
I called the customer service number and spoke with somebody who just didnt seem that bothered, told her I was reluctant to return so they could just repair and I would be happier with a brand new pram from an unaffected batch. She said they couldnt do that as I didnt purchase it from them directly and I would need to contact Precious Little Ones where I bought it from.
I said to her surely as its YOUR fault for selling a dodgy broken pram, you should be liable to replace not the shop that I bought it from, lady was adament that no, contact the shop, we can only fix and not replace.

So called them, lady was more helpful, I need to send her the email from Cosatto and they will speak to their Cosatto rep and see if they can do anything about it (ideally, as I said, I want a new one)

Am I going a bit OTT and should I be ok with the broken pram just being repaired or should I insist on either a whole new pram from an ok batch or should I get a refund and just buy a different buggy?
(As a side note, we HAVE to have a travelsystem where we can clip the car seat straight onto the frame as cant fit big buggy and existing stepkids into the car and trying to find others that didnt cost the moon or werent completely horrid proved hard work)

I dont think I could forgive myself if anything happened to my little one

If you haven't used it and it's faulty (if a recalled one then surely that counts) you should be able to return for a full refund as far as I am aware..

It's still in the box, hopefully they take it back and I can buy something more sturdy! I'm just waiting to hear back from them, fingers crossed....

It's the shop you bought it from who your contract is with, so you need to go back to them not the manufacturers.

I'd personally be insisting on a whole new pram, either the same type or something entirely different.

I saw the giggle in tweet on precious little things and thought about ordering, I did look at reviews online but always take them with a pinch of salt because I read plenty of good reviews to! Also thought that it was prob a issue from prams sold year or do ago and that they would be fine now!

Thank you for this post It has out me right off, I'm now looking at the m&p zoom or Mothercare Expedia

Precious Little Ones have agreed to take it back and give full refund and yesterday we bought a Mothercare Xpedia in the blue colour - its just as nice (I think) and a bargain, only £250 for the frame, carrycot and carseat plus mattress liner, footmuff and raincover, we paid £400 for the giggle so saved £150 which im well happy with :)
(They also have the Mothercare Orb on offer at the moment, £400 inc a free car seat but we weren't keen on the colour although the actual pram was fab)

I dont usually pay much attention to reviews but there were just so many bad ones about the frames collapsing and the handles coming off the car seat, it was on watchdog (its on youtube if anyone is interested) plus they confirmed mine was from a faulty batch so I just didnt want to risk it and I feel so much happier with the Mothercare pram.
@Catflap1 - I hope you manage to find something else you like as much, I was temporarily heartbroken (pregnancy hormones!) that I had to send it back but now completely happy with decision to go with Xpedia :)
