Can I expect my travel system to last for a second child or first only?

Hi everyone,
I'm looking to buy a Mothercare Expedior Travel System for £250 for my 1st baby due in October.
Obviously it's quite a cheap system anyway but my question is can I expect it still to be in a condition once im done with it that I would keep for any future children that may come along? Or is it more realistic that it would be done with it anyway and ill want a new one for any future children?
I'm happy with the above system in terms of quality but my question is because I'm trying to decide on either getting a nice girly colour for my little girl that is due or if its likely that I will be keeping it or a second child then I will make the sensible choice and get a unisex colour.
My husband had said get a unisex one and we will save it but I'm just not sure after 2+ years of use that it will be something ill want to save anyway! And I like the purple one :-) Let me know your thoughts - thanks x

Id stay away from the xpedior if i were you it has had loads of bad reviews the wheels are supposed to be nothing but blow moulded plastic with no suspension that can come off and the frame has been said to collapse from bad designing if you have a £250 budget try red kite push me zebu or joie chrome :) hope this helps and yes travel systems should last two dcs it all depends on how you take care of it and treat it

Oh and the car seat for the xpedior is supposed to be super heavy without a baby in impossible to lift with a baby in apparently

Thanks Rhuber, knew someone would question my choice of travel system but I've weighed up all the reviews and there is actually some very good ones and coming from top pregnancy and baby magazines and ive held the car seat so I know its not heavy so like I said, I am personally happy with it and my question was really just about length of time travel systems usually last anyway. I think with any product, you will get the odd bad review because as a rule people are more likely to comment when they have had a bad experience and it sticks out etc etc. Thanks anyway.

I got my silver cross travel system second hand, my friend who I bought it off had just stopped using it with her 2 year old. It's in excellent condition, everything still looks and feels brand new Even the car seat, and my dd now 6 months old and, if it's still in good condition, I will be keeping onto it for any future children I may have

On my third child now with my original bugaboo and maxi cosi car seat. Has been in pretty much constant use for six and a half years. So yes, buy wisely and it should last you (and your children). We went for a unisex colour too, but with the bug you can change fabrics anyway.

I have had 2 friends with the Xpedior and both of them have broken within 9 months of use, one the wheel baring snapped off and the other the support strut at the back completely sheered off. So I'd say you would be lucky to get a year out of it.

Mother care customer service is also awful so don't expect to get a replacement or even a stand in pushchair whilst they're fixing it.

If you buy something better quality then you can expect it to last a few children :)

Ive heard in RL and seen alot of posts on here since the xpedior launch about how it is the #1 returned pram for refunds/repairs and none of them have happy endings its a very peculiar awkward looking pram too i wouldn't be seen dead push one id rather have a hauck :D Thats a joke btw

My friend has just used her expedia for her second child, no problems at all with it, been a great pushchair for her and she has been very happy.

I'm also looking at buying the expedia for my 4th due in sept, she did kindly offer me hers but as this is a surprise baby 7 years after I thought I had finished I decided I'm going to treat myself to a new pushchair!

I think I'm pretty set on the 3 wheel version, didn't like the cheap looking wheels on the 4 wheeler but I have also looked at the mammas and pappas zoom (very similar) or the costaco giggle in tweet
