BJCM not working out, what now?

I bought a BJCM for my little fella and while there are great things about it the lack of suspension and non adjustable handles are not working for me. The biggest problem however is that at 3 months he's too big for the narrow carrycot and looks tiny and uncomfortable in the main seat. I also don't like him being in the car seat for hours on end. Anyway here's what I need:

  1. Single fold
  2. Fits in my Suzuki Splash
  3. Parent facing
  4. Adjustable handles
  5. Decent suspension for city use

I'll keep my BJCM as a holiday pushchair or just when he's older. Oh and I have up to £500 to spend.

Any ideas?

With single fold on the list you're very limited if you mean parent facing single fold. Bj versa, bugaboo bee, Icandy strawberry, babystyle oyster 2, mutsy evo, joie chrome, maxi cosi loola 2, maybe a couple of others. Of those I really don't know what would fit in your car. A bee probably, the rest would probably need the parcel shelf out or wheels removing, it depends on the shape of your boot though.

The boot is pretty small. It's deep not long if that makes sense - my current pushchair fits in ok on it's side. I don't think I have room for a separate chassis and seat.

I'll have a look at those suggestions, thanks.

If you can lie a 62cm wide city mini on its side then you almost certainly have room for a city versa and a joie chrome. The loola 2 would prob fit, the oyster 2 folded parent facing. I thought of another... The jane muum has a great parent facing fold and is very light. Jane pushchairs are not to everyone's taste though, I've liked everything I have had by them but Tiggy, who is pretty much the oracle on this board, hasn't thought much of any of them.

I have an i10 which, despite being unexpectedly totally fine for fitting 3 dcs in the back seat, would be a major challenge to fit a proper from birth pushchair in. A loola and a bee would probably fit, everything else I would be taking wheels off.

cadidog have you tried using a headhugger? My MIL bought us a BJ Elite Double for second baby. I had my DDs side fully reclined and we got this headhugger/support which worked really well from birth. I have it on a different but similar chair now that she's 4 months and she seems really comfy. Just a thought.
