Please recommend a double buggy with suspension

I have a Bugaboo Cameleon and love it, it's a breeze to push but I now need a double inline buggy that has suspension as otherwise I find too hard to push.

It's for one toddler and a newborn and must be suited for public transport.

Thanks

Hmmm suspension might be misleading here, the cam has front suspension and nothing on the back, just the air tyres. I'm not sure what to suggest here as personally I found the oyster max light in context of tandems. I used it as a tandem, are you using it as a tandem or as a single? The twone was massively better in double mode, in single mode it was top heavy and sluggish to steer, especially on the smooth shop floors, once you had the double seat on and even better a toddler in it it was transformed.

The b dual has lots of suspension but it doesn't 100% translate into it being easy to push. The Icandy peach blossom is easy to push as a tandem. When I was using them I had errant 4 yo ds to handle, if something needed two hands all the time I literally couldn't take it out.

The only thing I can think of that probably has air tyres and suspension is the tfk joggster twist with multi x carrycot and buddy seat. I have never pushed an obaby zezu multi but this has the cam style small front wheels with suspension and air wheels on the back. I'm not suggesting it would be remotely the same to push, just that it might be worth investigating.

Thank you IHP. I will look at the one you suggested. I'm already looking to sell the OM as I absolutely HATE it!

Are you writing off the toddler parent facing bit? You might like the promenade, that was mentioned in the other thread. What exactly is it about the oyster max that you hate? Some sort of joovy was mentioned on the previous thread too, might be worth a look although I've never seen one in a shop so I'm not sure how many people stock them.

You wot be able to get an in-line buggy on much public transport, you'd be better off with a tandem - I think the mountain buggy has suspension

I thought the inline was another name for a tandem. My mistake. I am writing off the parent facing toddler seat as it's too big a compromise. The OM is heavy. awkward and today I was pushing over small stones/gravel and couldn't manage it.

What makes the cam so easy to push? Is it the air tyres or front wheel suspension? I'm nearly sure my cam has foam filled wheels. I think the older ones were air filled.

I have an out and about Nipper 360 - it isn't parent facing but has great suspension and is side by side. I used it for my newborn and toddler - with a head insert for my DD. We live in London and take lots of buses, tubes etc. Never had an issue on public transport - not great to collapse and pop into the boot of a car though.

Ihateparties · 21/04/2014 19:55

Oh yeah, your cam will have foam filled wheels, it's ages now since they changed them I'm a bit behind! I wonder why you're struggling so much with the oyster max, is it a new one, could it be faulty in some way? Are you directly comparing the bugaboo with one child in to the max with two in? The weight distribution will differ but from memory it shouldn't be actively difficult to handle (I'm letting it off on gravel as so many things are useless on that).

Bugaboos are very glidey, dunno why precisely, combination of things I suppose. Nippers virtually push themselves too.

Mountain Buggy Duet - I found it lovely to push, very smooth. I had solid tyres on my single and air tyres on the duet and I think that was why I found the MB so smooth. I remember first time I pushed it loaded uphill in the park and I flew up the hill - couldn't believe how easy it was! Also v narrow (63cm) so good for public transport too

BikeRunSki · 21/04/2014 19:59

Nipper 360 single is my favorite pushchair ever, and I gave had a few! If I needed a side by side double, I would get s Nipper 360 double straight away.

In line and tandem is the same thing.

How old is toddler? We had cameleon and 15 month gap. First few months baby in sling and eldest in bugaboo, then youngest in pram and eldest on bugaboo buggy board. You can get a twoo seat to go on the buggy board. And the board clips off easy and fits in basket or folds up out the way when on and off bus

The board wouldn't do for my two year old at all unfortunately. She def needs a seat (throne!) as she rests/sleeps/eats in her buggy when we are out and about.

I don't like the look of the Joovy at all and if perfectly honest, it reminds me of a pushchair from the 1970s.

The Out n About handles brilliantly but I need a tandem.

I need one that has a bit of bounce and give in it. Pushing the OM feels like I'm pushing a heavy piece of furniture across a room.

I think I've been spoiled by the cam. :-(

The P&Ts are light to push but I need one that doesn't have air tires.

I think we have different taste, the odd time I have pushed a p and t I have found it fairly heavy. Maybe try a b dual or a twone in a shop, both have good suspension/generally bouncier feel.
