A pramette that faces parent both as a pram and as a pushchair

Is such a thing even possible? I'm not having much luck with Google and wondered if anyone here could help budget isn't huge but chances are I will try and find it second hand. My first though was the pilko but from looking at pics it seems to be forward facing once it becomes a pushchair.

My Stokke Xplory is parent facing both as a carrycot and pushchair.

blackteaplease · 11/04/2014 11:45

Bugaboo bee?

growltigersontheloose · 11/04/2014 11:46

Bugaboo Bee+? The seat will lie flat or sit up (at 3 different angles), both forward and parent facing. I love mine.

Nousernameforme · 11/04/2014 12:03

I immediately discounted bugaboo as being incredibly expensive. I shall go and have a nose on their website and see what eBay can do for me

No the bug is definitely outside my budget are there as is the stoke xplory which is a shame as have now fallen in love with it. Any others you can think of that might be a bit cheaper

There are plenty of second hand Stokke prams on eBay, OP.

What is your max spend?

bex2011 · 11/04/2014 12:18

Mothercare spin/orb.

starfishmummy · 11/04/2014 12:19

"pramette"??
Is that even a word?

Nousernameforme · 11/04/2014 12:24

There are loads on ebay but they are all 250 and upwards had a look on preloved and the local ones are about 450 on the stoke.
I know starfish pramette cringe but it is what they have been listed as so I figured that was the appropriate term.
Off to search for the spin orb

What you need is a Petite Star Njoy Bubble.

Nousernameforme · 11/04/2014 12:36

Thank you very much it looks like we will go for the spin. I have been dithering on this for days and the spin looks like it will do nicely.

I have a Cosatto giggle which includes a carrycot, then can still be parent facing once they go in to the bigger attachment. It's lovely to push and dead easy to fold down (and it fits in the boot of our Peugeot 206!). Got it for really cheap from Amazon in the All Star pattern.

Lozcat86 · 11/04/2014 12:39

I got a 2nd hand mothercare My3 on eBay for £40 with car seat too. Nothing wrong with it.
Mothercare dontmSke it maps but do this instead:
www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Xpedior-4-Wheel-Pram-Pushchair-Travel-System/psX5077,default,pd.html
It's £250.

Lozcat86 · 11/04/2014 12:40

Should have been mothercare don't make it anymore but do this instead Smile

WheresRyder · 11/04/2014 12:42

the obaby zezu has been recommended by lots of people. the blog belledubrighton has a review and pictures.

Hobby2014 · 11/04/2014 12:42

Graco evo has a pram top that can face either way, then you take that off and put the pushchair top on which faces either way. Also pushchair bit lies flat so suitable from birth if you don't want the extra expense of buying the pram bit.

JacqueslePeacock · 11/04/2014 12:43

The Pliko Switch does exactly this. It was great for us.

tinkerbellvspredator · 11/04/2014 12:44

I have an Oyster well reviewed by Which and a reasonable price

Piffly · 11/04/2014 12:45

Obaby Zezu Pramette! Using ours for DS2 & although the wheels are a bit on the wide tractor-y side, it's more affordable than the posh ones upthread (£200ish new? I think) & adjusts from flat pram to semi-reclined buggy to fully upright setting & can be used facing either forward or back. Only pain is smaller shopping tray than some others but meh. Does the job.

SquidTableau · 11/04/2014 12:49

I have a Quinny Zapp Xtra² Pushchair which can be parent facing & suitable from birth with an inlay (sold separately usually), you can pick these up on Ebay for not too much. I like it although its not great for pushing on grass or sand - for towns and pavements though it's good!

mrsbug · 11/04/2014 12:50

I had a pliko pramette and got rid of it for exactly this reason - dd was ready to sit up but I didn't want her to face away from me.

I replaced it with a quinny buzz which can be either rear or forward facing. It's not a brilliant pushchair though - it's too wide to get into shops and onto buses.

BikeRunSki · 11/04/2014 13:23

The Cossato Giggle was on Watchdog recently, because the front leg had snapped on many, with the baby on it. I assume they have dealt with this issue now, but it would make me wary of buying an older one.

FelixFelix · 11/04/2014 13:39

Bike I watched that just after I bought ours and it scared the crap out of me! I checked the batch number on the website and mine wasn't one affected, but they offered to replace the part for me anyway just for peace of mind. I just left it as it is, and it works perfectly. Their customer service is brilliant though Smile

Ihateparties · 11/04/2014 13:58

Graco evo, joie chrome, zezu multi especially if you might ever need a second seat or buggyboard. My child floe perhaps? I like a drop down carrycot rather than a lie flat seat but either is good really.

ThefutureMrsTatum · 11/04/2014 14:03

I have the mothercare spin (it's now an orbit - updated model), it's fantastic I love it. Bought it second hand too from gumtree for 80 quid, the whole lot, carrycot, pram, car seat, rain cover and cosy toes and it looked like new. It's really easy to handle and DS looks really comfy in it. It looks nice as well, got it in silver.
