What buggy would you suggest for a regular London bus user with a 2yr old and 8 month?

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Any pram that can accommodate a buggy board. When the bus arrives, you clip the board upright and your elder dc sits on a seat while you stand with the pram.

Possibly something like a Vista with Rumble Seat - where you could always unclip the rumble seat and put it into the basket. Or a Mountain Buggy +One which is barely bigger than a single MB although its still on the large side. The TFK Joggster Twist with a buddy seat is worth a look too. Tandems like the iCandy Apple 2 Pear, Peach Blossom 2 and Oyster Max don't have a footprint much bigger than their single counterparts, so again worth a look.

I have an oyster max and love it...Depends if you are going to need to collapse it as you have to remove both seats before you fold it ..As second seat is proper seat works longer than a phil and teds

We used the bugaboo cameleon with board. Worked well as handle goes down so fits behind London bus poles which even maclaren umbrella buggies don't

Thanks everyone for your replies. I like the idea of a buggy board but my DS is a bolter and I don't think he'd keep put on one otherwise it'd be so much simpler.

I love the look of the Oyster Max but wouldn't be able to fold it up and cope with 2 little ones on my own. :(
starlight how much space it does the Oyster Max take up on the bus?

Honestly, I am not sure there is an easy answer in the doubles department. There aren't many single pushchairs which are a one handed fold, let alone doubles which fold as one piece easily. The best choice if you need to fold is the Baby Jogger City Mini Double - however you will need two hands to fold it.

The iCandy Apple to Pear folds as one piece. You may even (not that I have tried) be able to tow it onto the bus behind you. But the fold is so large, that you may as well leave it open!

I can manage to fold the iCandy Peach Blossom one handed, and to carry it all at once. However I dont know if I would want to shepherd a toddler and carry a baby at the same time! But its not beyond possibility TBH - baby in carrycot, chassis over your shoulder and seat tucked under your arm? You could certainly erect it one handed at the other end.....strangely it may be do-able....

The mountain buggy duet fits on bus facing forward behind pole ( if that makes sense). So you can fit the duet as double plus a single pram on bus. 3 wheelers are horrid on buses
