Pushchair advice for baby & toddler

Does anyone have valuable advice on my next purchase. I am currently pregnant and when baby arrives I will also have 18 month old. Our current pram (m&p sola) will no longer suit.

I have been looking at the maze of tandem prams Icandy phil &teds, britax, jane etc and am no clearer as to which one to go for. We live in the country so suspension is important for a smooth ride (I did not look into this first time and do somewhat regret this) Also a reasonably compact fold ( I know this will be hard tho, so not top of my list of priorities)

Please any advice would be greatly appreciated......I'm completely confused. Thank you for your time in advance

Nipper v3 is side by side, but great off road and one of the lightest pushchairs Iv pushed. Folds in one piece but not super small. Can add a carrycot for baby if you want but don't need to as lies flat. You could easily push x2 5 year olds in it so would last forever

Baby jogger mini city double

Thank you all will look into them, did look at tandem as can change it back to single when eldest is walking, and no need for 2 seats. Are tandems a bad idea???

I had a Bertini pram (from eBay), it had a separate toddler seat that was fixed on top of the pram. It was absolutely brilliant as was just the size of a large pram rather than a double buggy.

I sold it to a mumsnetter...you need her to come on this thread and sell it to you!

It was like this. Not the best pic but should give you the idea. If you are able to get hold of one it was just brilliant!

This is the seat itself here

Well every tandem I have pushed has just seemed so so heavy in comparison. Personally I would keep your single, and either use a sling for baby for while then buggy board for toddler, or buy a not too expensive side by side and sell when not needed ( maybe get on ebay).
From 2 years neither here have used a pram unless sick. They still napped but at home. By 2 they were potty trained but not when asleep so didn't want them napping in pram anyway as likely to have an accident. So you might only want for a few months anyway

Honestly, if suspension is important to you, then get a side by side. Something like a Nipper or TFK Twinner Twist Duo or an Easywalker Duo? Buy well, treat it well, and you should recoup most of your money upon resale (especially if you buy second hand - you may even make a profit!) Its better to treat a double as a rental and then buy a good single at the end.
The two tandems I know of which have decent suspension are the TFK Joggster Twist and the Mountain Buggy +One. I would put a Multi X carrycot onto the TFK, and its worth reading up about the +One. I have to say the ultimate tandem for suspension was the Mutsy Duo Rider which had terrific bounce. However the seats were simply boards and I wouldn't put a newborn in one! Not one for taking round the shops either as the turning circle was huge.

baby jogger city mini double! loved mine! ds1 was 17 months when ds2 was born and this was ideal. I also brought the carry cot which was great. whereabouts are you? Smile

I had a double P&T which I liked, but not as much as my Nipper 360. In your situation I would get a double Nipper (great suspension), sell it when I no longer needed it, and revert to the single you already have. Or sell both and get z single nipper!
