Ok so I'm looking for a tandem that suits our needs. DS is almost 3 and still has daytime naps. If we go out he tends to sleep in the pushchair. He does walk a little bit but gets tired after a little while and can bolt at the wrong time. DD is 8 months old so I don't need one that's suitable from birth just a decent recline. So far we've been getting along with 2 old single pushchairs a maclaren quest and a koochi helix travel system. Both are quite narrow and reasonably light weight. I've never taken the children out by myself I've always had either my DH or someone else with me hence the 2 single pushchairs.

But now due to my DH working, me going back to work and other changes I'm going to need a way to get both babies out of the house easily by myself.

I've been looking at different tandems as I don't like how wide side by sides are. Not keen on Phil and teds I prefer ones like iCandy Blossom 2, Baby Jogger City Select and the Babystyle Oyster Max.

My problem is as I don't drive and we live in London so I need something I can easily get on and off buses with and possibly tubes. I also wonder how big they are in comparison to what I've already used eg the maclaren quest.

Does anyone have any suggestions or advice?

Has anyone got a iCandy Blossom 2, Baby Jogger City Select or Babystyle Oyster Max? Can you get them on and off buses easily? How easy are they to use?

Sorry for the marathon post. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My DS is tall but slim for his age. He still wears some 18-24month clothes. I have loads of trouble finding trousers which are long enough but won't fall down as he has doesn't have a belly. Lol. I didn't think of that. Hmmm. I wonder if he'll be to tall for some tandems Hmm

I had fallen for the City Select but was worried about the length and getting on buses. So started looking at others. The Oyster Max looks good in the reviews I've read but I guess I need to see them in person.

Does anyone have any other experiences with them? Anyone have any suggestions for side by sides that I can get on a bus?

I think you will find all of them big after your Quest.
I honestly would not get a City Select with two already older children - especially a 3 year old. Its so heavy compared to the others on your list. Its not particularly longer. These side by side photos may help.

I have to say with a 3 year old, I would definitely be steering you towards the Oyster Max or even a Mountain Buggy +One. I think I would rule the City Select and Peach Blossom 2 out (much as I loved both), your ages just would be better suited to the other two tandems. However check out the lower seat recline on the Max for the youngest - it may be better to have the eldest underneath with the top seat parent facing for a while - your eldest should have the height to not have the seat in his face. Recline the seat to allow him access to nip in and out. The +One to be honest would be my personal choice. You need to research it, and it does depend on the temperament of your eldest but its so fab to use with older siblings and yet is the size of a large single.
The iCandy Apple 2 Pear is worth a consideration simply because it is so light to steer and would be simple on a bus.

For a side by side - to be honest any of the good brands - Baby Jogger, Easywalker, Nipper, TFK Twinner Twist Duo etc would work fine for an older child. There's usually more room in a side by side, and they are generally easier to push than a tandem.

Bloody iPhone! Lol. I have looked at the mountain buggy + one but I just wasn't sure about it. I've been looking at the oyster max and it does seem ideal for us and it's one of the (slightly) cheaper ones.

Does anyone know if you can get an oyster max on and buses easily? Does it take up loads of room?
