We decided to sell all our single 2nd strollers and invest in a new one but there are so many to choose from. Can you recommend any? We have a few requirments.

Must be parent facing.
Must have good handle height (I am 5ft 4 and DH is 5ft 9)
Must have a 5 point harness.
Must be able to use from birth to child (5yo max).
Foot rest if possible.
Budget of £350.

Help!

If you want smaller then a (used) bee or oyster gem. Neither have footrest or tbh a seat big enough to accomodate a 5yo being realistic but if smaller is a priority then they're pretty good. Bigger and heavier then imo a versa would give you the best chance of it continuing to accomodate bigger children. You need the carrycot too though for the newborn stage. If you prefer a lie flat seat unit the graco evo is supposed to be pretty good.

Thank you :) Not really fussed on size. Reason I ask for older child is ds1 still uses it every now and then when he's unwell and would like for him to have that option again for him.

I would prefer lie flat but again not terribly fussed. I like the look of the Graco. I'll check that one out :)

Used Bugaboo Bee. We got an immaculate year old one for £250. Delighted with it (13 months on, used from birth). DD has spent A LOT of time in it. Love that i can move her from upright to flat so easily, without waking her. You'd need to spend £60 on the newborn cocoon. Caveat: only for city use, the wheels only cope with low grade unevenness.

It's always useful to have something that can accomodate a bigger child. The bee is easy to test out as everywhere stocks them, you could see if it would work for you. If you're not bothered about size then personally I would look at something sturdier, possibly a versa gt (although the regular one will also be fine). It's the biggest reversible seat I can think of. The city select is pretty large too.

I love love love my m&p urbo! From birth, parent facing, forward facing, good basket, Great big hood, 5 point harness. Love it!

I don't think the Bee would be good as we live around a lot of unsturdy roads and surrounded by gravel paths and walking routes so needs to have wheels that kind of terrian. I'll check ot the versa :)

Out and about nipper v3. Of road 3 wheeler. Can use lie flat from newborn, can add car seat if needed, seat def big enough for 5 year old. Super super light and £300 ish new. Can push with one finger. You can also balance a child on footrest if needed and large basket etc.

The double is also great and one of narrower side by side twin ( but assume you have those)

MultipleMama · 05/12/2013 20:52

Yeah we have 3 twin (ABC quad, Donkey & Apple 2 Pear).

I like the nipper but it isn't rear-facing.

Anybody have experience or knowledge on the Mura and Britax Vigour 3+?

Hate hate the mura. Heaviest pram I have used. No idea about the other I'm afraid

Artandco · 06/12/2013 07:10

Do you really need a single or could you just convert either the donkey or the apple to pear to a single when needed? Assuming you would only take other other out at the same time ie the abc with other children and one of the others converted between x2 adults

MultipleMama · 06/12/2013 10:36

We only use the ABC on family walks/hikes. We need another single. We have 5 DC who use strollers so having the single is when we're rushing and don't have time to fiddle about converting them. And if we need to take more than 4 DC one is used in the carrier.

If I'm correct from other posts you are German/ moving there? Have you considered some German brands

Koelstra sports wagen - does a 3 wheeler rear facing for €399. Can add carrycot if you want but not needed

Gesslein

Knorr baby

MultipleMama · 06/12/2013 14:32

DH is German and we're moving there just after Christmas.

You know, we never thought to look at the German ones! I've now seen two we both love.

We love the Hartan Sky & Knorr baby voletto sport. Both in the orange colour. We'll still keep on looking though haha.
