Does anyone know what age a bugaboo cameleon goes up to?

DS is nearly 1. Our beloved bugaboo cameleon was stolen a couple of days ago. It isn't all bad news, our house insurance is covering the cost, they have given us cash so we can choose what we want.

I really relaly loved our bugaboo, it was so great when ds was tiny and it I love the way I can switch him from parent to forward facing easilly.

Any idea what age is the maximum a child can use a bugaboo cameleon? If he is going to grow out of it at 18 months we should buy something else but is it could work untill he is ready to walk everywhere we will buy another one.

Ds was a huge little baby but is now pretty average.

Ummm last Christmas my then 5.75 yr old was poorly on the one day I had pff from work to finish Christmas shopping. She wasn't vomiting or anything like that and I was desperate so I got our bugaboo out and took her round a few places in town in it. She's quite tall but light for her age. With hood up and rain cover on and the cosie toes she was very snug and slept after the first few minutes. So yes I would say buy another one Grin

Thanks for the advice :) I think we will get a new bugaboo, the original one only cost 200 pounds and I normally wouldn't spend so much money on a phshchair (the insurance covers the cost of a new one) but my mum bought the original one and my dp keeps reminding me that it isn't actually us spending so much on a buggy it is my mum and the insurance company.

Must stop feeling guilty!

Definately - and if you don't want it for another dc you can sell it in a year or two and treat your mum with the proceeds Grin

I sold mine when my DD was 2. She was quite big for her age and tall. She just wasn't fitting into it comfortably and her head was brushing the hood when it was up. On the plus side, they retain their value well, so even if that happens, it should sell well.

Part of the issue is that we really really want another baby at some point, both me and dp have fertility issues and it took a long time and very nearly a round of IVF to become pregnant (I got pregnant the cycle before starting IVF) If we had a newborn again I'd certainly want another bugaboo, but it feels a little like tempting fate buying a pushchair that works for newborns when we might never have another newborn :(

4 year old still fits in it here if he jumps in when brother is out!

I can understand your worry but come on - you'd be buying a pushchair like the one you had which was stolen from you. If it hadn't been for the lowlife thief you'd still have it - and you wouldn't worry about an existing pram tempting fate would you?
Buy the pram you love and which the baby you have now will be comfy in. I very much hope you have another snuggly newborn in it too in due course Smile

Thank you for the encouragement!

We bought a new (new to us, 2nd hand) bugaboo today, it is all shiney and nice (2011 pram but only used in the house (??!!), I can't wait to take ds out in it, he is asleep, I sort of wish he would wake up ;)

The original pram was 200 pounds, the insurance money was 480 pounds, the new pram was 350 pounds so really onlly cosy 70 pounds, my mum bought the original pram, I think I should give her 130 pounds back!

:)
