I bought a mamas and papas ultima 9 in one travel system in brown cord and paul smith lining earlier this week. Its a beautiful system but is it practical? my mum has ferreted it away as it is 'bad luck' to have it at my home and I've not had a chance to play with it/try it out yet Sad it was a steal at £100 but I want to know if its any good and do I have to find another system.

First time mummy so any help would be appriecated!

Used one for the little boy I looked after and I hated it. Felt flimsy & was like a bus when he laid on in the seat unit

Really! :( aww I so love the design and fabric I was kinda hoping it would be decent!

In my experience of using baby stuff ( children are 5 and 1 so it is reasonable experience) anything made by M&P is a triumph of style over function. The more stylish, the less good the function. Sorry. There' ll be a reason why it was only £100, even if you got it second hand.

I'm confused how a pram can be 9 in 1! Surely it just has carrycot/ seat/ car seat? Ie 3 options. What are the other 6?

karamcleod · 21/09/2013 10:44

It has an additional stand that means you can convert to mosses basket using carrycot, or high chair using the seat attachment and the stroller can either be rear or forward facing, but to be perfectly honest I'm not sure why its 9 in 1! Also have just had a phone call from dear mother, she has had a chance to test the system and she seems to think it's actually quite good, nice strong chassis with ajustable suspension, and also attachments fit on to frame easily and securely so thanks for your advice but my mind is slightly at ease! :)

Adjustable suspension? I thought the suspension wasn't that great - was awful on short grass, poor child got bumped All over the place

Only good bit I think is the adjustable handle.

For £100 you could get a lot better

You can change it for rough or smooth surfaces and tbh I won't use a pram a lot because of where I live so I'm not to disappionted in my buy :)

It depends what you want.

We did lots of walking into town so the big shooping basket was good.
I wanted a real solid pram rather than a bucket on a pushchair which some of the carrycots are.
We used the carrycot with an extra mattress for DS to sleep in when he was a newborn, meant we didn't need a moses basket.
I wanted a parent facing pushchair and used it for local walks until DS was about 9 months.

BUT - I have the brown cord fabric and it fades alot if left in the sun - so don't!
Its also huge and not that maneuverable.

Shopping, obviously.

Thanks for your feedback will bear in mind to keep it out of the sun!

You really need to get it out and have a play with it... stick some potatoes in it for weight and wheel it around, collapse it up and down etc. Your Mum is trying to look out for you but it's crazy to be asking advice on something you own because you haven't looked at!

Have a play with it then you can GIVE the advice! Smile
