Another pushchair question!

Would love some input into what pram pushchair folk would recommend for me. Here is the criteria:-
Live in small town/large village so walk to shops and cafe key
But a bit out in sticks so also need to easily fold into car to get out to other places too
We have ok storage so that's ok at home
Only one baby :-)
I'm very active - we thought about getting one with jogger wheels but think we will just get a proper jogger one later on when baby older
Key I think is lightweight and easy to fold by myself! And ability to use as pram/car seat/buggy
Not too expensive though we are happy to buy main bits on ebay and car seat new if it is an expensive brand
Thought about these ones:-
Britax affinity and b smart
Icandy jogger
Quinny buzz
Mamas papas sola
Trider
Oyster max

Many thanks in advance!

The oyster max is big folded for a single but if you plan another baby soonish then may be worth compromising on folded size for the tandem adapation feature.

If it was me choosing the peach jogger would be top choice of the ones you mention. The affinity is a nice pushchair and I hear a lot of good things about the trider too. The sola has a bit of a mixed reputation, I liked the glide I had, i believe it's essentially the same pushchair.

Have you looked at the Baby Jogger City Versa and the Joie Chrome?

Quinny Buzz is awful. Too wide for the aisles in most ships. Not sturdy enough for rough stuff, not slim and nippy enough for urban stuff. Mine was badly put together and really rattly. Hydraulic folding mechanism notorious for breaking. Storage basket tiny. Pushchair seat tiny. Steering all over the place. Hated MI.e, sold it when ds was 6 months old.

Have you looked at Nipper 360s?

thanks both no not looked at Baby Jogger City Versa and the Joie Chrome nor nipper 360 - will investigate those too. the one thing i hated about the icandy was the hood is really noisy - does this not bother baby?! Are there other things I should be concerned about when looking at prams other than lifestyle? (will also google again too) Expect we will have another maybe 18 months after? But no more than 2 :-) We are being given a phil and ted double which I hope we can use as the double at that point.

Shopping basket size! The bigger the better, everything gets thrown in there. If I was looking for a new pushchair now, I' d look for a handbrake. I' ve scuffed so many shoes on footbrakes and they are difficult in sandals.

I go for a big basket too. You have a mixed bunch in your list.
I too would leave the Quinny Buzz - everyone buys them but there's so many niggles with them whether the wide back wheels, the fold which can pop open on you in the boot of the car, the low down shallow basket, the way you turn the seat round and its kind of at a weird angle until you correct it. One way (I can't remember which) there's only 2 reclines (I assume FF).
I hate the Sola - big and bulky folded, long when open. The fabrics wear really fast and my Sola went rusty quickly. But they seem to sell but I think thats once again because its what the high street shops sell.

My favourite here is the Peach Jogger. However, look critically at your pavements. If they are sloping and narrow, you may struggle with it. If you have lovely flat pavements, then it will be a pleasure to use.
I love the Oyster Max too - but its on the big side folded and open, and I wouldnt buy a double until you know the age gap. Have you looked at the normal Oyster?

Thanks all. Great advice. Need to go back and retry them knowing all this!

Really interested in this thread as similar to my criteria plus I'd like a bit of off road stuff (not too off road but gravelly paths, fields etc)

I've been recommended baby joggers and was looking at the Summit x3. I LOVE the peach jogger but seems super expensive plus I don't like the fact you can't collapse with seat/carrycot in place.

I've also been told about the petite star zia. Does anyone know much about Phil and teds?

I would not let a 2 piece fold put you off a pushchair unless you have a specific reason for it. Some 2 piece fold pushchairs like the Peach and Cherry are far easier to handle than many 1 piece pushchairs. At least you can carry the Peach (both parts) and your child at the same time (and probably the changing bag as well!). I couldn't do that with some 1 piece folds!
