Phil & Teds Dot double for newborn and 2.5 yearold

Hello,

I am looking to buy this stroller but want to make sure it will work for me. I have rather large newborn who is 56 cm long now and rather normal 2.5 toddler girl. I don't want to buy extra car seat and want to use lay flat option for newborn and second seat in front.
2 Questions:
1.What is the age baby can go into the lower second seat?

  1. I read about newborns outgrowing the lay flat option before they can go into the seat below, how long can the newborn be to fit into that?

Thank you

I believe baby goes into the lower second seat at 6 months.
Have you tried the Dot? I have concerns about how well your 2.5 year old will fit in the different modes.

What about a buggyboard for the 2.5yo on your existing pushchair?

I think I put dd into the top seat from 4/5 months as could recline it. This mean that ds had to walk but he was nearly 3 by then so not so bad and only a couple of months until she could sit upright. I never put her at the bottom though - easier for ds to go there as he'd hop in and out.

I had a dot (briefly) and I think the doubles seat (on the back) would be suitable from before 6 months because it has a more of a recline compared to other versions of P&T. However, I found the main seat to be very compact. Far more compact than I'd expected. I carried my 14 month mindee in it and she looked like she was hanging out of it.

It is my least favourite P&T.

As an aside and because it was the main reason for me buying the Dot, the P&T vibe fits into my carboot when the Dot didn't Confused

You might want to try the navigator instead. My tall DD was too big for the second seat in terms of headroom in the Dot but had loads of headroom in the navigator.

thanks everyone. I decided to save a buck and go for classic. Not as stylish but big wheels will be great in the country side. I spent about £300 for the stroller, second seat, 2 seat liners in grey and the double storm cover. I think it is not a bad deal after all, should be arriving today.
