... All I can find with these requirements are the Maclaren XT or XLR - am I missing something?

I don't know but we've had the Techno XT for over a year and it's like new. Brilliant. One of the best pieces of kit we bought.

Ended up getting a XLR after trying out a few! Maclaren definitely seem like the best strollers.

Uppababy G-Luxe?

I have the XLR and I love it. If you decide to have another dc, the recaro car seat turns it into a travel system, and there is also a carrycot. I adore it and dd is now nearly 2 and it is the only puschair i have/need.

I've got the uppababy one - I'm 5'8" if that helps & the handles are just the right height. You can steer one-handed too

jumperooo · 11/08/2013 18:31

forgetfulmog do you have the 2013 model?

Forgetfulmog · 11/08/2013 20:28

Nope, I'm a skinflint so went for the 2012 one Grin

jumperooo · 12/08/2013 07:20

Ha, yes the older one seems to be reduced now so its quite tempting, but I like the sound of the new seat recline and the fold. Can't find 2013 model to try out anywhere though! How do you find it as a pushchair? We have and love the uppababy vista at the moment but thinking of getting something smaller

Forgetfulmog · 12/08/2013 08:53

Yeah I really wanted the Vista but the seat wasn't high enough for me (back problems).

Tbh I've only used it once - the wheels seem a but flimsy, but I think that's par for the course as a stroller. It's v easy to push & steer. The brake is a bit fiddly as its small, but not a massive problem. The sun shade isn't huge so I'll have to start putting sun cream on dd. Seat seems very comfy - dd fell asleep literally in seconds. The fold is ok, probably not as easy as some, but it's fine & I chose this one for the weight over the fold.

It's got some fantastic reviews in the US, especially for public transport (& iirc, buses in the us are not particularly user friendly - have steps etc).

I'm only intending to use it for when I need to get the bus or I get a lift from someone (I can't drive) so it won't get a huge amount of use, but it seems perfectly adequate for the job.

Btw Jumperoo, as far as I could tell the 2013 model is heavier than the 2012 so something to bear in mind.

Also the raincover is v tight fitting on dds legs, but she's going to be walking soon so might just put wellies on her if its raining & leave the raincover loose on her legs.

jumperooo · 12/08/2013 10:02

Ok, thanks!

bluemagpie · 12/08/2013 10:15

Have you checked out the micralite? We've got the older fast fold and it is brilliant! It's got everything you mentioned plus its pretty good off road as well.

Gooseysgirl · 12/08/2013 10:30

We also got a bargain with the 2012 Uppababy g luxe... £95 at Groovystyle including 5% Facebook discount, and use it largely for travelling. I'm delighted with it, it's light as a feather, steering/push is fab and my v tall DH loves it! It doesn't fully recline but my DD 17 months snoozes in it very easily, she is much more comfortable in it than our previous umbrella fold (a chicco). We also have the vista which is uppababy's higher end travel system, it's big and bulky like most of the bigger buggaboo and icandy systems but the basket is huuuuge, DD loves it and is still very comfortable in it and she's a big buster!
