Please help...
first time mum to be looking for a pushchair from birth to suit following criteria:

must be light (have 3 slipped discs and degenerative lumbar vertebrae)
both forward/outwards facing
required for use in parks. woodlands. tow paths mostly
easy fold to get in a car boot
adjustable handle height

happy to compromise on:

shopping basket
price
aesthetics

looked at an icandy cherry (wheels don't look too robust for off road?) and uppababy Cruz (ditto wheels)

any recommendations gratefully read :-)

Both the Cherry and the Cruz would handle tow paths and a bit of grass eg the park. Woodland is really a different matter though. I agree with you about having an adjustable handlebar with a bad back. However the Cruz handlebar is very high even on the lowest setting, so if you are on the short side, bear this in mind. The poor suspension may affect your back. Something a bit more bouncy would absorb the shock through your hands better?

To be honest, the Cherry isn't bad if you can forget the woodland. Or the Graco Evo is incredibly light to lift, carry and push. Look also at the new Easywalker MINI but I am reserving a little judgment until it comes out. But definitely worth a look. I am going to throw the Baby Jogger Versa into the mix because although its a bit of a chunk when folded as one piece, if you split it into two pieces, then its easier to carry. It depends how your back affects you - I can manage a good swing of a pushchair into a boot but I struggle with the wrong height handlebar. The Cameleon by the same token is worth a look but it involves a bit of bending down to fold etc. The Cam, June and Versa would be better off road. The new Oyster Gem is worth a look too, as are the very lightweight Baby Elegance Beep Twist and Neyo pushchairs (I noticed how light they were the other day).
If you need serious off road, then you will probably have to compromise on parent facing, and the Nipper would be worth a look or the Recaro Babyzen.
Does that give you a few more ideas?
