Which pram?

Hi, I'm going pram shopping Saturday and was wondering if anyone can recommend a good pram please! I don't know much about it but am ideally looking for something that could be used as a pram and then pushchair later on, if that's even possible? I'd like the pram option to face me. I'd also like to be able to use it as (or with) a car seat. Finally my boot space is limited so it would need to fold up really small/lightweight.

Can anyone help?

It's a BMW 330 convertible (obviously without roof down for the baby!). It's a funny shape due to the section that the roof folds into when it's down. An icandy strawberry wouldn't fit into it, we tried the other day!

The quinny zapp xtra will fit in tiny boots.

Something that folds fairly flat? A new loola would probably fit and is suitable from birth without a carrycot, takes carseat etc. A baby jogger versa will probably fit too, it's light to push but neither of these are particularly light to lift.

Also, your view of pram shopping - you plan to go once and buy one or this is a trip out to see and try things out? People vary vastly in how much the details of their pram bothers them or not. I'm picky, everytime i leave the house unless i'm carrying a baby then the pram is with me so it's important but not everyone is particularly bothered at all as long as it has wheels and transports a baby Grin

ICandy Cherry, BabyStyle Oyster and Bugaboo Bee should all fit.

Recaro baby zen with yoga carrycot.
I love mine.
It folds really small, the carrycot is also a free standing chair or cot and as a pram you can angle the level if you have a refluxy baby.

Babyjogger city mini but not parent facing in pushchair mode. The city select also folds surprisingly small but not sure how that compares to the strawberry.

I've just bought a Mamas and papas urbo and it fits in the boot of my mini Smile

Its not a bad sized boot really. My convertible had a 20cms clearance in places which was a nightmare for pushchairs. And yes we had the roof down lots in summer!! Plenty of car seats have decent hoods and we added on overhead toys -taf toys do a good mirror one - which gave extra shade!

We had a Bugaboo Cameleon in our boot, but looking at the photos, I would have thought you would have plenty of choices TBH.

I dont know when you are due but look at the Bugaboo Cam, the new Buffalo (smaller folding than the Cam), the Bee. Look also at the iCandy Cherry and the Peach (although this depends more on the shape of your boot). The Recaro Babyzen should fit but it depends on the opening of the boot and angle as its a solid chunk to lift. All the Baby Joggers should fit - the Versa, City Select (the only tandem pushchair to fit under the roof of my convertible), the City Mini, City Mini GT etc.
If you have time before the baby comes, thenlook at the Babystyle Oyster Gem.If you are shortish look at the Zapp Xtra.

I guess the only comment I will make is that you will undoubtably need to put other things in the car - changing bag, shopping etc so the smaller the better really, or else a pushchair like a City Mini that you can slide on top (if it fits at the end). Or else consider something cheaper for the first 6 months to see you through (and to keep for day long outings) and put the money towards something like a Babyzen YoYo for longer term use.
