Which Buggy is best for buggy board (4yr and 2yr olds)?

Hi there - I'm finally looking to trade in my double Phil and Teds for a buggy plus buggy board. My kids are 4.5yrs and 2.5yrs. I'm looking at the Maclaren XLR. Does anyone have any thoughts on this, and which buggy board would you recommend? (I know that Maclaren won't recommend any buggy boards for safety reasons..) We do lots of walking hence the need for buggy board for a 4.5yr old! Thanks in advance for any advice.

I have an xlr with a lascal maxi buggy board. The board fits well, but I find it much harder to push than my double, feels very rickety. I am thinking about swapping for a baby jogger city mini GT, better tyres might help with the weight.

Thanks for that tip.

I really didn't like my gt with the board. The gt is stable for a 3 wheeler but already the weight is balance is towards the back (it's v light to tip up kerbs) so with extra weight on the back it never felt quite comfortable to me. Also unless your 4.5yo has a small head they won't fit inside the handlebar so pushing will be more awkward.

I am using a britax b motion currently, with a lascal mini and it is definitely heavier than the gt to turn and tip but similar (and bouncier due to the suspension that the gt lacks) to push along. I prefer 4 wheels and the balance with the board is so much better.

I don't really know what else works well tbh. The bj versa but i doubt that would be the sort of thing you're looking at with a 2.5yo really. The oyster and board has good reviews too but again prob not perfect for 2.5yo. Small pushchair with toddler size seat that is genuinely sturdy is a bit of a gap in the market imo..

Oh really I hate parties. Might have to try something heavier then. My baby is only small. Am going to look for something with better suspension I think. Yes I forgot the maclaren tips very easily with the buggy board but that might be less of a prob with a 2.5 in the front rather than a 3monh old!

That's a good point, my occupant is 17m and about 11kg but a bigger heavier child would balance it. I don't think it needs to be heavy, the bee is good with a board, as is the oyster, just robust enough to take it and not tippy in the backwards direction. I liked my bugaboo gecko with the board most of all but the bugaboo board sticks out quite a long way, not everyone likes that.
