Bugaboo Bee how long should it/did it last?

I have had a bee plus since 2010 so it's coming up to three years. I now have a new baby on the way and am thinking of getting a new model, as the old one seems a bit rickety and shabby but my partner says it is a waste of money. Should the bee plus last longer than this? I'm thinking that if I get a new one now I can sell the old for a couple of hundred quid, but is that just a massive waste of money? I just think that with another baby I'm going to be using it for another three years at least, so am I better off getting a new one now whilst the old one still has some value, or should I just stick with it and expect another three years out of it?

Why is it rickety (ie more than a Bee feels rickety IYKWIM?). You can always buy a new hood and new seat fabrics if you want a face lift. Unless there's a fundamental issue with the frame, it seems a waste of money to buy another Bee. I would maybe see if you can get yours serviced if you really aren't convinced its ok?

My old style bee(2009), is now on it's second baby and going strong. I'm hoping it might even do a third!

Thanks Tiggywunkle - how do I get it serviced? Are there places that will service them?
I don't know if it is rickety more than a bee should be, it just doesn't feel so smooth anymore but maybe the screws just need tightening up a little?
Maybe I am just suffering from 'new baby on way want lots of shiny new things' syndrome, but then again I'm not rich so don't want to waste money unnecessarily.

Same as the other poster, my 2009 bee is going strong for dc 2 now !

It would do a third if I was allowed one ! GrinGrin

I was only able to justify the initial cost of it due to the fact it could be used again. No way was I able to justify having a new pram for DC2 Smile

OP, buggypitstop will sort you out. Alternatively, get your instructions out, remove all the fabric and stick in the washing machine, and clean the frame with furniture polish. Mine came up a treat. My 2009 model is now 3.5 years old, going strong with DS2, DS1 still uses it occasionally, and hoping DC3 might come along and use it.
