Running pushchair

I am keen to start running again and thought I would get a second hand baby jogger performance on eBay. However, there don't seem to be that many for sale so wondered if anyone had any advice about other makes or models to look out for.

I have used a nipper 360 in the past, but would like something with larger wheels.

Thanks for helping!

A BOB Revolution maybe? Or a Baby Jogger Summit? I am no running expert though :)

Definitely a BOB if you can't find a Baby Jogger. BOB's are American (me too) & have recently hit the UK market.

I saw there's an Ironman for sale on eBay - pickup only depending on where you are.

I've got an SUS D'lux and have used a friend's Ironman.

They're not small (even folded) but fold easily and DS is comfy - he's 5 now and could still fit in.

I can't say enough good things about mine. Gone off, off road no problem. Very sturdy & easy to run with. They also hold their value well here - no doubt they will there too as they become better known.

Just to add, compared to say the Baby Joggers, the BOB fold isnt that big TBH. In fact you reminded me of this and this. Yes it is bigger, but if you popped the front wheel off, then I bet the BOB is shorter, or the same size folded. The fold is as quick as a Baby Jogger fold which is what surprised me. Fold the top half, pull the handle and its in your hand - but because its done from the rear, you dont have to move round to the side or front to fold.

I found a baby jogger performance with 20" wheels on gumtree, not in the best condition but affordable. It's been absolutely brilliant so far. But it's a basic model, and to sure how long it will fit my 1 yr old in. My 4 yr old with long legs is too big to safe near the wheel. I will make a note of the others for when I need to sell this one. Thanks for the suggestions.

I have a Nipper Sport off eBay - is this the one you had before? I find the wheels quite large and running comfortable, both for me and DD.

Swimbikerun · 22/07/2013 08:37

Not a nipper sport, they weren't around I don't think. Just a normal one. It has had loads of use, but now onto dc3 and its a bit lnackered. The big wheels are just brilliant, I just wish I could get a parking brake sorted, as I think it must be quite an old model with. Stand you put it on which is no god when dropping dc1 off at school! Will have a look at that bob one for future reference. Thanks

I have a Bobat first the Ironman, which I got rid of, as I didn't like the fixed front wheel, and then the Revolutionand they are fantastic running strollers. I'm in America, and they are by far and away the most popular choice of running stroller.

I had Bob revolution and they really really are amazing, I was very sad to sell him when the time came!

I have a Baby Jogger II I'm looking to sell. Hardly used in navy with rain cover and strap. Pm me if you're interested. X

We use a double bike trailer with running wheel if something like that is of interest. Ours is a 'chariot' brand. It's double but you can get single also.

It means we can cycle, and then convert when out if needed, or we just keep as jogging but it's handy as has a high weight ratio ( I'm sure we could fit x2 5/6 year olds in approx with the weight limit), so will last a long time. We can pack up with a picnic etc if needed, and the main point for us was the excellent rain/ sun covers.
As its in one piece for us it's nice as in winters our boys are snuggled up together with a fur throw when we go for evening runs, and in summer when lighter they take books an 'read' to each other ( they are only 2 and 3 so can't actually read yet)
It also folds small enough when needed but probably not te quickest if you need to fold daily. We also only use for running/ cycling, so never tried popping to supermarket / etc with it
