Hi first timer here I'm looking at the XT & the XLR we live in a first floor flat so it will be folded everyday & carried up the stairs. Are they suitable for use with a newborn? which is better ? they seen very similar I can't find many reviews on the new models so any help would be great!
Thanks

Hi, we got the XT - I always think more expensive is better and was going to get the XLR but the guy in John Lewis said the only difference is that the XLR takes a car seat. Can't remember which one as we bought the XT as a travel buggy and had a maxi cosi that went with our Stokke but it wasn't the maxi cosi anyway! We used the XT with DD from when she was maybe 5 months but it is supposed to be suitable for newborns. Suspension isn't great so baby would be bouncing but it wasn't great in the Xplory.
The XT is so easy to fold and light etc, would definitely recommend it and DH refused to use the Xplory once we had the XT. One of my friends lived in a fourth floor flat and had the XLR and found it fine to carry up and down.
I lived on the second floor and hated carrying up and down the buggy. I'd say get a moby wrap for when baby is teeny tiny and then use the XT from once they're a little sturdier?

Also lived in a second floor flat with an xlr and ended up selling it and using a sling full time. We never used the xlr with the carseat as I never figured out how to attach it safely. I also found the suspension fairly poor, and DS hated being front facing.

Sorry to have been so negative about the xlr. Three different friends had xlrs/ xts from the start and have found them perfectly fine. They have all been rather smug and pleased about not 'having to buy a lightweight stroller' down the line. I'm the only one I know who started with a stroller and ended up spending a fortune on bigger more expensive pushchairs.
