best lightweight pushchair

My trusty maclaren triumph has finally broken but ds2 is only 13 mths od and it was so handy (had it for ds1 and dd2 as well).

I need something lightweight that is easy to fold, not too big or bulky and comfy. Don't know whether to get another maclaren or something different.

I get the bus sometimes so it would need to be good for publuc transport too and not too wide. Not too heavy either as I have joint probs.

Any ideas ?

Hello,

We've noticed this thread is quite old now, and some of the product recommendations are a little out of date. We've spent weeks speaking to parents and testing buggies and lightweight pushchairs, here's our round up of the best baby pushchairs

Hope that helps!

Bjcm? Boots have a deal on them at the moment Smile

I will have a look, have heard a lot of good things about them but are they as small as the triumph ?

I don't know sorry,Sad

No they aren't, a city mini is the obvious one except for the width. They're 62cm, the triumph will be less than 50cm iirc.

I'm trying to think of small alternatives but struggling. How narrow do you need it to be approximately?

If you want to keep two handles then probably just get another maclaren tbh.

The smaller/narrower/nippier the better.

Not bothered if 2 handles or a bar handle. I have a p+t sport which I use everyday but dd2 has just started going back to pre school and I was putting ds2 in the triumph whilst she was there and it was nice to push something light. It never felt that great to push despite being light and ds seemed comfy but I'm wondering if there are comfier lightweight pushchairs out there.

Has to be an easy fold too, often have appts and get taxis and sometimes buses.

I think I would be suggesting a bugaboo bee if it weren't for the easy fold bit, imo it isn't an easy fold.

Baby jogger folds are fab but i think it's too wide for you.. not sure about a britax b agile, that's 4cm narrower. The handle is lower though and children of certain ages can seem slumpy in them as the seat doesn't pull very upright. With this same folding concept there is also the graco swiftfold, which I haven't tried but might be worth a look. Ditto the Joie Litetrax and the red kite push me zumi.

There are a million umbrella strollers, as I have only ever tried one I don't feel qualified to comment really, maclarens seem universally popular though.

Mamas and papas kato is on offer at the moment. I have a Frankie, I considered the kato, but it doesn't have a leg rest and DD2 was only 8 months hen I bought the Frankie.

I was wondering about the bee. What is the difference between bee and bee+? They are quite expensive too aren't they?, I would probably have to look for a second hand one if I went for the bee.

Mothercare basic one. Costs little, does the job well.

I'd say get a bee. I'm not an umbrella stroller fan. I have a couple of maclarens but hate to push them
