OBaby Zezu Twin

We found out at my 12 week scan that we are having twins Grin I was wondering if anyone has used the OBaby Zezu Twin and what they think of it? I'm struggling to find a twin pram/pushchair that I like (really don't like bugaboos and don't get the hype Blush plus they cost the earth) The problem I have is no where near us seems to stock the OBaby (or anything else suitable for twins that's rearward facing other than the Donkey) so its a 2 hour drive to even try it out! I want something that can be a pram for when they are little, then be a rearward or forward facing pushchair. I'm not fussed about being able to attach car seats to it as don't plan on using them other than in the car.

Thanks in advance.

I don't think they are in shops but the stroll air my duo is the only other one I can think of apart from the donkey that isn't wider than a standard door. Over time that would get v irritating imo. Depends where you live though, maybe I only think that because I seem to need to go through a lot of limited spaces!

If you think you're likely to also have a second smaller simpler pushchair then maybe the width of this one matters less?

Thank you. I love the look of that but think once we'd bought the stroller and the pram/carry cots to go it would work out quite expensive. Will show DP anyway Smile

I live near Brighton and the places I go tend to have double doors (I think) so size isn't too much of an issue ( I bet I'm going to regret saying that Wink)

Some of the nicest shops for babies and children in Brighton have poor access for even single pushchairs. You should be fine in big shops with a wide pushchair, but in your shoes, I honestly would get critical and have a hard look at where you might take a pushchair. I know a wide pushchair wouldnt fit into my doctors surgery for example and having to take two 9-12 month old heavy, crawling babies out for an appointment, along with a nappy changing bag would be hard going for me. I know someone near us has to do this whenever they go to the bank.
There is a lack of side by side pushchairs with reversible seats, especially on a budget. Have a look at the Twins Freestyle Cool on Ebay. You would have to buy blind but its pretty good TBH. Not perfect, but I would certainly have another.

Can you tell me where these shops are please Tiggywunkle I only know of Mothercare and Babies r us! Would love other shops to look round.

Just looked at the Twins Freestyle Cool and I love it! More than the OBaby as it has proper pram bassinets! And comes with the car seats so would be cheaper in the long run. Thank you for showing me this. Will be showing DP when I get home Smile

Hmmm although I've just read a review on it and it doesn't meet British safety standards, but meets EU ones.

Safety standards have all just changed - no idea how, but I think there is / will be more alignment with Europe now - I heard there may be issues with labelling "from birth" here because here "lie flat" is based on how flat the seat goes here but in future, as has happened with Maclarens, there will be a test to ensure the baby is enclosed in the seat unit and can't fall out. So I have to say, I would do some more research on whats changed in the last few months / coming months re safety standards. The biggest difference here is with regards to fabric being fire retardant.

Other shops in Brighton - there's a number in the Lanes - sorry I dont know all the names but theres a JoJo Maman Bebe and around that, were several other baby shops full of gorgeous clothes, shoes etc etc. I couldnt get into some of them with my single pushchair and had to leave DH outside with the pushchair.

Tiggywunkle · 05/06/2013 23:08

There are also two others - one did fab slings and another gorgeous wooden toys, but they are out of town. I did a Google last time I was there and went visiting!

This is a confusing minefield choosing the right pushchair. And if i'm finding this hard how will I find motherhood haha. I'm so looking forward to being a mum (have been waiting for the right man for the last 10 years) It's all exciting and scary. Just want babies to be safe (as all of us do of course)

Thanks for the things to think about and I'll Google Brighton baby shops Smile

I was shopping with my twinnies the other day and got chatting to a lady with newborn twins in the obaby - she had been using it a week and was already moaning about not fitting in places.
I have an Out N About 360 & havent found anywhere it doesnt fit....yet (in 5 months). I use car seats on wheels though so use those for the doctors as I think that's the only place I'd really struggle. I also now sometimes use the Babyzen YoYo plus a baby sling if going to some places where a double could be awkward.
My 360 doesn't parent face but I did use Hauck soft carry cots for the first 3 months to keep babies lay flat and facing me. They haven't actually outgrown them yet but I've stopped using them and just use the pushchair as is. It's a good economical option and I hope to not buy another double. Car seats don't fit it anyway but looks like thats not an issue for you.
For most of my pregnancy I was set on the Twin Freestyle off ebay but at the time could find no reviews etc. In the end I decided against it due to the width and was then torn between Mountain Buggy Duet and the 360. The 360 won due to weight cost (1/2 that of the MB!).
It's really about knowing what's inportant to you. I used a 2nd hand double for the first month and it really helped me figure out my must haves.

Thanks for the advice WeOnlyPlannedTheFirst (love the name Wink) Having a rear facing buggy is a major must for me, it always has been eve before I was pg. I used to hate pushing my niece and nephew around when they were babies and not being able to see them to know they were ok etc.

I guess I need to find some type of baby supermarket (Kiddicare?) and see if they have a big selection of buggies. Either that or talk to DP and just bite the bullet and spend some money on one I hope I will be happy with. There is a defo need in the market for more twin buggies, especially as they seem to be getting more and more.

I went to kiddicare and got a demo of the ones I was interested in - pushed them and folded/unfolded them etc. I think the StrollAir looks lovely so why not take a print of it's dimensions and weight etc so when you play with others you can get a feel for how it would compare.
