Smyths Dimples Duo

I've posted before, will soon have a newborn and a 2.7 year old. Finally went to Smyths toys and played with the Dimples Duo and really liked it! I've got a single from DS1 that I'm keeping to use when I need a single but was quite impressed with the duo for when I need a double. Just wondering how it would be for this sort of age gap? Also I forgot to have a look at the basket, is it accessible when using with both seats parent facing?

Thanks!

Can they both parent face? I feel like there was something that stopped that combination working but I could be remembering wrongly... am looking, seemingly I didn't do it but it looks possible...

Does it work well with the age gap do you think? All of the reviews seem to say its fab but not the most durable - I think it'll get used daily for around 6 months then just for longer days out after that until DS outgrows it.

It should be fine, even if something went wrong there is the 12month guarrantee. Smyths seem pretty good, i recently got the mobi tandem and it had two wheel guards for one side in the box instead of a pair. A new set arrived, direct from the manufacturer within a week. I was impressed, plus got email updates while they were looking into how to get the part etc.

I think you will be okay with your age gap as long as your elder one isn't very big for his age and/or you don't mind his head being on the hood or taking the hood off. The seat backs are a little short.

When i had one it wasn't that it broke, infact i've not heard anything about then breaking, it was just some parts felt cheap so we weren't sure how it would fare across time.

Thankyou Parties. Is the mobi any good? It's a fantastic price but they didn't have one on display that I could have a look at today.

Yes, love it. It's a lot more single sized than the duo, smaller fold, very much lighter. But obviously there are more limited newborn options. You can attach a maxi cosi but I wouldn't do so full time, apart from that because the top seat is bucket shaped not lie flat you need to wedge it for a newborn. Anything like a smartmuff, silver cross surf nest or britax car seat newborn support thing would work to make it flat BUT the baby has the face forwards.

It's proving good for me now because i'm pushing it with one in much more often than two these days. The main seat parent faces in single position so if you wedged it then the baby could face you for those trips. It actually does fit fully reclined with the second seat on and upper footrest pointing up but the lower child then doesn't have much space... as in fine for part of an outing, a few minutes if the toddler mostly walks etc. But less so if your toddler will be in there full time.

Thanks Parties sounds like the mobi is fab but not what I need it for.
