Stroller regrets. Help?

First: I'm sorry if this is in wrong thread or something (saw that warning message when I previewed). I'm discussing wanting ideas and advice for a new one, not wanting to buy or sell one, so I'm confused as to where it should be posted...

We have for Children - 4 and under, and up until recently we only had need for one pushchair (replaced with a Babyzen YOYO a month ago) as when dd was born she was carried in a sling until around one year old basically until ds didn't really need the stroller anymore, and we bought a toddler board for him.

5 months ago I had twins, and it was only a month ago that we invested a double stroller instead of using the moby wrap as it was no longer practical.

We bought a Jane Twone w/ 2 Matrix Light, we bought it simply because we loved the simple look, and we loved the idea of have both children flat in the stroller and even in the car (both hate sleeping sitting up in car seats - unless already asleep) it was very handy and I think the twins are comfortable.

However after a long discussion we decided to return it because despite how practical it is now, it won't be when they're both toddlers and squashed for space. This also means forking out for new car seats but that's easy done, we just bought 2 more Cybex Sirona.

Now we have to decided on a new double stroller;

My husband likes the OBaby Zezu Twin
I like the Contours Options LT Tandem

Can you recommend any? Preferably tandem, and easy folded to fit into a car with another stroller? Thanks!

This is the right place.. ummm what sorts of places do you need to use the pushchair, do you have a preference side by side or tandem (I have a twone so I know how close the seats are, not all tandems are like this, although I actually did like it in original format I used a second main seat on mine which improved things a massive amount)...

Oh I've just read the preferably tandem bit.
Things to google - Peach Blossom 2 would be number one pick as it has the two fully reclining seats yet remains easy to push even with heavier toddlers in, Babystyle Oyster Max, possibly a BabyJogger City Select but I think it gets heavy quite quickly as they get older, hard to steer etc. I too like the Contours LT Tandem though, it looks really good.

I've just bought a baby jogger city select and I tried it with my 3 year old in the front and it seemed fine and liked all the different combinations you could have. It also fits in my ford galaxy boot with all the seats up (not much room at all). Waiting for it to be delivered but it ticked all my boxes, I'm a cm and only need a double a few days a week but it looked ok as a single too. Looked at the bugaboo donkey but it was a lot more expensive and would nowhere near fit in my car.

It'll mainly be used as an everyday pushchair. We have a car but we only use it for work or grocery shopping. We live an half an hour walk from the town, and not far from the creche and schools. I need one that's good on cobbles and unstable paths, but also for busy areas.

I'd prefer a tandem just because of the compact size but I'd consider anything that's practical for my needs and a side by side would be great for easy access to the twins. I don't care for storage space as I have clip on hooks for that stuff. We'd also prefer rear facing.

Thanks, I'll check out the Peach and Oyster. We also like the look of the Adbor Dou - it looks sturdy.

Funnily enough I was looking at the Zezu twin this week with a sales assistant. She said it wasn't nice to use, and also pointed out that the hoods are a bit odd. They stand very upright on the seat and dont come right down over the child. I think it looks worse in real life than on the photos I have seen. The assistant really didn't have anything nice to say about it and the width would put me off as 77cms wouldn't go through an old standard doorway into smaller shops. However its not as big as some other pushchairs (I think I have just replied to your Adbor Dou thread).

Meanwhile I think the Contours looks good. It would definitely be my choice. However a word of warning, are you able to buy it in the UK (I haven't searched) because I had the older Contours and it literally fell apart after a few uses. It was an absolute pain to return to the US for repairs and was away for months. If you buy one, buy from a reputable seller because the quality was not that good.

I think in all honesty, you would be better sticking to brands with a good reputation and customer service. My top choices for your two little ones (all different) would be the iCandy Peach Blossom, the Bugaboo Donkey, the Baby Jogger City Mini GT, the TFK Twinner Twist Duo, the Easywalker Duo and possibly a City Select (but it may well not last you until the end of your pushchair days which you put on the other thread so bear this in mind).

I was just looking at review videos on youtube and product videos and I'm not so keen on the choices we liked.

I can easily get things imported as I have in laws in Germany (that's how we got our car seats early) and it helps my husband is German and can deal with their costumer service etc, if we needed it.

I'm not keen on the Peach, it doesn't look comfortable and the wheels just irk me, petty I know.

As crazy as it sounds I've been looking at the Cosatto You 2 - It has the comfort factor, the recline positions and the twins didn't seem to mind the bumps and shakiness in the twone (it actually helped them sleep). We're considering it but skeptical on how long it'll last or should I say the wheels last.

Hmmm if you found the twone bumpy and shaky the cosatto will be quite a lot more so imo. How about a brevi ovo twin?

MamaBlue4 · 09/03/2013 16:23

Not crazy shakiness and bumpy but enough to feel it.

We went out pushchair shopping today, determined to buy one, one both we love but not buying for the sake of buying.

The store we went to had great customer service and knew everything we needed to know, they even let use test drive the pushchairs with the twins and set it up for us, so we could use it there and then!

We finally went with the Baby Jogger City Mini GT Double, it is amazing - thanks for the recommendation! We forked out for accessories but it came with double belly bar and raincover (included in price). We got 2 foot muffs and another back support, then ordered two belly bar consoles and parent console which we pick up next week.

I would have preferred a bar to lay down the seats but with the back support it's a little easier to use the string thing.
