Mamas and Papas - Sola pushchair and carry cot

Worth the money?

I need a lightweight pram as I don't drive and live in an area with lots of hills, but will be out with baby quite a lot.

Does anyone have any experience with this pram/pushchair and care to share??

I think that it was recommended by Which as good value a couple of years ago. We had one, easy to manoeuvre & change carry cot/seat etc, but the main drawback we found is that it doesn't fold up particularly small - once in the boot of my car there was no room for anything else. When DD was 10 mo we got a Maclaren buggy, haven't used the Solo since.

I have one which I'm using for dc2. It's not very light and the carrycot is very bulky. With hindsight I wish I'd bought a McLaren or baby jogger city mini as the pram mode is used for for such a short length of time.
If you do decide to get a Sola I would look at a maxicosi carseat. I have the cybex one and it'a really heavy to carry around.

I think there are much better options out there especially for walking up and down hills with. A pushchair like an iCandy Peach Jogger or Baby Jogger City Versa GT or Oyster with air tyres or Bugaboo Donkey would be great to push. If you dont mind your LO forward facing, then the Baby Jogger City Miny GT / Elite or the Nipper or Bumbleride Indie or Easywalker Sky would be lovely to push.
Heavy in kgs bears little relation to how easy or hard a pushchair is to push.

I LOVE my sola pushchair. DS is 5 months, have used it for Buggyfit twice a week since 6 wks, and walk around 35 miles a week with it. not had any problems, I can carry it with him in it up and down stairs if needed. Easy to change from seat to car seat, put up and down etc. Can also push one handed easily. I didn't use the carrycot, as he was a very big baby, so used the seat from birth, just laid it flat. We got the aton seat, which is wider in the shoulders than the maxi cosi, so has lasted longer than friends. Love it!

I had one and hated it, amongst many things the suspension was rubbish and the wheels buckled inwards when I went down a kerb. My BJCM is much, much easier to push.
