Could I take a BJCM (double) on a plane?

Probably a daft question but I really don't know & can't find any info online, can I take a double pram on a flight, it says we an take a pushchair per child but mention of a double.

Just wondered I anyone has taken one or seen someone with one or should we play it safe & take 2 singles?

I'd e-mail the airline.

Can't see why it would be a problem - it goes in the hold anyway, just not til you get to the plane doors rather than at check in.

BJCM folds quite small anyway - fairly sure something with a carrycot would take up more space.

Could you take a sling just in case they make you check it in earlier?

I know loads of people who have taken BJCMD on planes. It would be my first choice of a double pushchair to take on a plane.
The only warning would be if you are flying from Heathrow where certain airlines wont let you take heavier pushchairs to the gate - its one baggage handler - so check.

Phew, I was beginning to think I'd have to take 2 singles or buy another pram!
We'll email the airline & check any size restrictions, thanks for you help

I took one on a long-haul (3 different flights). For two legs I was able to take the pushchair right up to boarding and they stowed it near the door for me so I could disembark straight on to it. I did enquire in advance though.

There are clip things you can buy to connect two single pushchairs so you can use them as a double, if you want to consider a more flexible alternative.

Ive taken my mountainbuggy duo and the BJCMD on several flights, I would recommend a prambag though, esp if you are flying from heathrow.
