Tell me a bjcm twin is what I need...

...when dc2 arrives in July. Dd will be 22 months so I reckon I will still need a double of some sort. Having looked around I like the look of the bugaboo donkey but DH says no, not even second hand which I'm gutted about the bjcm double. Would probably buy 2nd hand, are there any years/versions to be wary of? Or any similar pushchairs that I might not have considered? I loved that dd was facing me on her bee but I can't see a double that would allow that for dc2, unless I put a carrycot on a twin. Don't like the type of tandems where one child is squished beneath the other.

Thanks

It's a lovely pushchair I will be purchasing it Grin. That is all.

I don't think BJ make a double version of the 'Versa' yet but if they did, that can parent face.

I had one for a newborn and big 2.5 year old. Was brilliant! Both kids really comfy in it, great hoods for sleep/weather protection, loads of storage, easy to push even when fully loaded. For a side-by-side it was surprisingly nimble, never had any problems getting in anywhere. Loved it so much I also got a single which I am still using (and still completely in love with too!!!)

I had a 2010 version, the red/cream/black colour way.

Sorry....one final thought! It's not parent facing but there is a perfectly placed viewing window which meant I could look straight down on the newborn.

Thanks all. May have to have a rethink as I went for an early pg scan this afternoon and dc2 has turned out to be twins! Eeek! Is there such a thing as a triple??

Congratulations!!!

Ihateparties · 17/12/2012 17:21

oooh, congratulations. you now have a different question.. thinking... will return with thoughts and back up, people who have had triples!

Tiggywunkle · 17/12/2012 17:27

Wow! Congratulations!!! There is a Triple Summit but its not suitable from birth. You are going to have fun and games finding a good triple! May I suggest you dont look for one pushchair to see you through. Something like a Mountain Buggy Duo with double carrycot would be good for the baby stage, and then you can think about something like the Valco with reclining Joey seat, or the Summit, MB Triple or Peg Perego Triplette for later on.

It might be worth look for a double that has a large carry-cot that you could maybe put both babies in top top tail when they are small. Then maybe put one baby in a sling.
Before you get a triple pushchair try and work out if you will have extra help some of the time so may not need it, your bigger one will soon start walk. A double that will take a buggy board may also be worth getting. Good luck

Eskarina · 17/12/2012 21:31

Thanks. I think a triple is a bit much actually, though I'm not likely to have much help. Hopefully I can use double + sling until dd is old enough to buggy board along. Gutted I won't be able to use my bee+ again though!

Wow congratulations!

you will get to use the bee again. When the twins are walking you can use the bee with a buggy board and they can all swap. My friend's twins are Just 4 and she has been use a single with board on for some trips for 2 years and most now she uses just the single and only really to carry the coats.
