Shall I trade in my Bugaboo Bee? What for?

Really need some advice on buggies. I bought a Bugaboo Bee before DS was born as we have quite a few steps going up to our house and wanted something I could carry easily. DS is now 1 and have slipped a disc in my back carrying it up. Am thinking I need to get something much lighter but want something that is still very easily manouverable and has plenty of under space as well.

Also DS has been walking for a good few months now and is always keen to be walking rather than in the buggy so thought it might be an idea to get a buggy board so he can hop on and off so want something that can fit one of those. Any advice on those would be amazing too.

Thanks so much!

I am having a think about the first part of your question. But can I clarify something - do you want a pushchair for one child, but a buggy board to go on the back of the empty pushchair for the same child??

If so, thats a bit daft really! Buggy boards are really not fun to use. You end up hunched over to push which surely would not help your back plus you have an empty pushchair in front. Surely if DS is walking then he would walk until tired and then you would put him back into the pushchair?

If DS is nearer 2 than 1, then something like a Micro scooter may be an option with a pull along strap? Or a pushalong trike?

There are pushchairs which can be folded when DS isn't using them and slung over your shoulder or pulled along eg Maxi Cosi Noa, Quinny Yezz or Babyzen YoYo. But it sounds like you are happy pushing an empty pushchair. But I can't think of anything like this which has plenty of storage space. Probably the best is a Babyhome Emotion Xtreet which is small, light and has a big basket. I also had a Quinny Zapp which had a basket underneath and a big wedge bag on the back - I used to get a wire basket of shopping home on it if I loaded it well.

I might come back to you when I have had a think, but a small lightweight pushchair with a big shopping basket would be my dream!!

Just to add, I wouldnt put a buggy board onto a Zapp or an Xtreet or anything else lighter than a Bee. Certainly if the main pushchair seat is empty, it could be very dangerous. Buggy boards can be tippy even with a child in the seat.

Yes definitely a board on something very light is a nightmare, the one time I had one on my xtreet was killer, never again! I'm not totally sure what you want either really, something to use very occasionally or for a portion of every outing?
