Njoy bubble vs m and ps sola for a sensitive boy who needs to see mummy!

Hello all..... A bit of background from me..... I soooo need your help!

My ds is 7 months old and it appears he is super sensitive. He hates strangers, traffic, wind... It's quite stressful. He is much better when he can see me and his sister on the buggy board when we are out, we can distract him from being too overstimulated. Poor wee guy but driving me mad.

So we have a quinny buzz from 2009. It is a nightmare. The brake has bust, the chassis is done in and I think it has been a bit wrecked by the buggy board. I can hardly get it up and down now as it is so stiff, plus the seat position in the parent facing orientation is too reclined. He keeps pushing himself up, I need it more upright. So I was so pleased when he got to an age that I could ditch it and get the maclaren out but we tried this the other day and it was a disaster. He hates forward facing, too much for him.

So, I need a parent facing buggy. I need it to be compact and I need it to fold in a oner with seat attached. I also need the seat to be upright. I am done with travel systems. Over. It.

I also don't want to spend the earth so the bee is out the question as is the easywalker June. The only one I'd consider spending that kind of money on would be the bj versa but that's not happening anytime soon.....

So we went to see the sola. It is nice, still on the "travel system"side of things but ticks boxes that he would be parent facing and very upright and I loved how high the seat is meaning we would be practically at eye level. He will enjoy that. It folds in a oner, seat attached but only front facing but turning the seat is so easy I can do it in like 2 seconds, it will fit in my boot but not so small as a maclaren but it takes a buggy board.....but like I said, bigger than I'd like......

The njoy bubble.....almost perfect, the easy fold umbrella style is exactly what I was looking for. But now I am thinking, will he be really low down meaning he'll be gazing at my crotch thus defeating the purpose? Will it be any use in the winter? And they don't recommend a buggy board. However so compact it will be great for holidays. And I love how nippy my maclaren was, so light but comparison to my horrible buzz. if I go for the sola will it end up as cumbersome as the buzz once the buggy board is on it?

So neither ideal. I have located a new in the box sola on gumtree for 160,bargain and I also have the njoy en route from amazon as there is nowhere to try to out where I live.

What do you think? Help me(sorry for the essay!)x

Of the two I would go bubble from what you have said. The seat may be slightly low but he will still be able to see you, and more particularly his sister on the board. Dunno re longevity though, you never do with a new product. The Versa is ace - mine has returned from whence it came :'-( - but it is also pretty large. I love small, I covet small. There isn't enough choice IMO, bee, bubble and ummmm...

I've got a Sola, it's not perfect but very easy to push. I walk dd to nursery holding her hand pushing baby one handed. Not sure how well it works with a buggy board.

Vivienne52 · 21/11/2012 21:23

Buuutttt you can't use a buggy board on the bubble! I'm honestly completely torn. Just want the versa. Think it has everything. Bloody typical. Helenovhull, do you think 160 for the sola is a great deal? How do you find it on kind of bumpy paths?

Honestly....neither....look at an Oyster, Mutsy Evo (Should be fab with a buggy board) or something else instead...

helenovhull · 22/11/2012 08:11

Sounds ok to me, and I've been using mine for 2.5 years, heavily (good few miles a week) on cobbles, dirt tracks etc, and it manages. If its v bumpy I lock the front wheels. Not had any problems yet.

If you get it and don't like it I reckon you'd recover most if not all what you paid and could buy something else...

Well the bubble arrived today and went straight back. There are so many issues despite the innovations. If your at all interested I could list them but needless to say its going back. I think it will only be a matter of time til maclaren with bring a reversible umbrella which will probable be better. Great idea but far from perfect!

Is there anyway you could get a secondhand bugaboo frog? Picked one up for £150 as my pram was irritating the crap out of me. I love it. It's light, easy to steer. Can be faced either way. It's a bit of a pain to fold but it's getting easier. There's a knack! Honestly, it's the nicest pram I have ever pushed.

Vivienne52 · 23/11/2012 16:27

Given the nick of my Quinny I am reluctant to buy second hand! I'd worry I was buying someone elses problems.

I was very dubious too but it's in lovely condition and there's no way I could ever buy a new one. Would have to sell a kidney!

Definitely recommend babystyle Oyster! One piece fold, although its not the lightest to carry its brilliantly light to push, takes a buggy board, and my DS 20 months, 91st centile still very comfortable in it :)
