Any ABC buggy experts about?

I have a bit of an unhealthy obsession with ABC buggies. I have bought and sold a few secondhand ones to make up the best combination for my childminded children.

I now have exactly what I want but have a single buggy and a twin seat to re-sell on eBay.

The problem is that I don't have the 4 wheel conversion kit or the adaptor bar to attach the top seat.

I contacted ABC and it's going to cost me loads to get these bits imported...does anyone know of anywhere to get them secondhand? The adaptor bar isn't essential but would make it easier to remove the seat. The 4 wheel conversion kit is more important though.

Any suggestions?

Errrmmm look out for one on EBay, buy it and sell on the rest? I had the four wheel kit to go on a bargain ABC but I simply sold it on again. Did you contact Phil Green direct because he's usually cheaper than going via the shops which ship.

Will keep searching eBay.

Yes, I emailed Phil directly.

The single buggies don't come up all that often and my house is already overflowing so not sure if I can stretch to buying any more!

:( You never know though :)
I assume you are watching Gumtree, Preloved etc too.

I've just bought a single ABC buggy with reclining toddler seat on eBay (sorry Tiggywunkle! I know you said it was not really recommended) and I simply LOVE it.
It really turns heads as I sail down the streets and even better, people get out of the way rather than walk into me. The kids love it as well.

I have the 4 wheel adaptor and am currently finding it easier to keep as a 3 wheeler so it's not being used. If you don't find a secondhand one for sale before Christmas give me a shout, I may be willing to sell.

I'm looking for a raincover for the reclining toddler seat, I emailed Phil Green -£59 + £29 postage!!! For a RAINCOVER. They're having a laugh surely?

What combination have you got out of interest?

What's the adaptor bar for the top seat?

HiccupHaddockHorrendous · 05/09/2012 05:50

Ooh, yes, I'd definitely be interested!

I have a single with a reclining toddler seat and a static seat. I also have two different front adaptors so that I can have either seat attached to the front and one on the too.

The adaptor bar fits onto the handle so you can attach/remove the top seat without having to take off the handle bar.

Re raincover. You could just get a universal 3-wheeler type cover that just sits over the hood of the reclining seat. I looked ar getting a hood/raincover for the static seat and it was £100 + shipping Shock. It's very frustrating that all the accessories are so expensive!

Ah, now I know what you mean. I had a look at my buggy this morning and yes I do have the adaptor bar for the reclining toddler seat.
At the moment my toddler prefers to be in the main seat (can climb in and out by himself) so I have the baby in the top seat.

My only other concern about it is that I don't have any seat liners, while that is ok for the toddler, the seat is a little hard for the baby. Can you reccomendation a brand of seat liner for the reclining toddler seat? Once again, ABC charge an arm and a leg for them do I'm looking for an alternative.

I have a sheepskin liner...I think it's by Bowron. There are always loads on eBay. I bought mine from TKMaxx a couple of years ago for about £18. Also, I wonder whether a Phil and teds cocoon would be any use? Not sure what size your baby is nor do I have any experience of the cocoons but it might be worth trying it out...I wonder if mother care stick them to try out.
