P&T Cocoon - need the Vibe-specific one?

Have just purchased a Vibe from ebay, but doesn't come with the cocoon. Baby due mid-winter so would quite like one, even if it used for just a few months, to keep him/her as warm as possible.

But, do all cocoons fit the Vibe, or do I need to get the one made specifically for the Vibe? Will be getting it from ebay or similar, and the non-vibe ones seem to be cheaper. But, if it doesn't fit, it'll be a complete waste of money!

Can anyone help?

Have had a good look on websites and it seems it needs to be a Vibe cocoon for the vibe PnT.

I sold my vibe cocoon to someone with a sport and it was fine, they're identical imo just the vibe one has removable matress and zips up differently! The function and fits fine so yes any p&t cocoon.

ValiumQueen · 25/08/2012 07:58

I guess the websites selling them will not want you to mix and match as they want to make money. I got my cocoon for £10.

StateofConfusion · 25/08/2012 08:01

Its exactly that valium vibe/sport/classic interchange things like cocoon/coseytoes etc. I can't speak for new models.

ValiumQueen · 25/08/2012 08:03

The new ones are quite different though aren't they? Perhaps the best thing to do is go to a store that has a few versions on display and have a little play.

ValiumQueen · 25/08/2012 08:05

Sorry confusion I tend to think if the Vibe as a swanky new one.

economymode · 25/08/2012 08:44

Thanks both, got a few months yet, so will pop to a shop when I get a chance and have a play!

Oh, and while we're talking about P&Ts - will any changing bag be ok to hang over the bars as long as the straps aren't too long? I keep reading about how bags swing and hit the head of the child underneath. I'll have two in cloth nappies, which are bulkier than disposables, so will need to have a decent sized storage solution. Apparently the panniers don't fit the vibe...

I think any changing bag would whack the lower child, or at least block your view of them. I am amazed the panniers do not fit the Vibe (not jealous any more). I would consider a rucksack, especially with two in cloth. while in newborn mode the shopping tray will still be accessible.

economymode · 25/08/2012 15:02

Damn, I really didn't want to do the rucksack thing as it all ends up in a jumbled mess and I end up with a sweaty back. Didn't realise about the panniers until after I'd bought the Vibe and was looking for storage. there has to be some alternative, surely! Think i need to get me to a shop and experiment a bit.

I had skip hop bags, dash I believe, and strapped on each side just above the rear mud guards, worked well for me. Or a backpack with undo-able straps, looped onto the frame of the doubles seat when on the back, or bag with long strap hung behind the back double seat. I used mine with a 1 and 2yo hence selling the cocoon.

valium the new ones (promenade I think) are so so different more icandy/b-dual esque design. Didn't reconise them as p&ts in kiddicare this week. Rather huge too.

ValiumQueen · 25/08/2012 16:21

The promenade is so different. Interesting the two newest Dot and Navigator are back to the original styling.

economymode · 25/08/2012 21:55

I reckon a skip hop should do the trick - as far as I can see, they have detachable straps so I could hook them high up under the handles just using some fabric ties, I think. Need to have a proper look at one though.

On eBay you can get a bag strap clip thing that fits a PnT so may be easier than fabric ties. It replaces the strap that comes with the bag. Not too expensive. Sorry cannot link.

StateofConfusion · 26/08/2012 11:32

The skip hops I had had already got short handle bar straps for when you removed the shoulder strap, and the small ones I think called dash, have three velcro straps all intended for attaching to a buggy frame

ValiumQueen · 26/08/2012 12:30

Never even heard of skip hop bags. Rather costly. Nice though!

Tiggywunkle · 26/08/2012 15:57

Funnily enough I came across two changing bags yesterday during a clear out which may well work. Its this one These Its got two straps at the back to hook over handles but I think they attach on as well so in theory may fix onto the chassis somehow. I used to get tons in. Having just bought a Skip Hop Saddle bag I was shocked at how small they were. Even if they dont attach straight on, I bet they would with some velcro straps or hooks.
