Micralite superlite stroller

Anyone got one and what is it like please??

DD (3) no longer wants to go and sit in a stroller but likes to stand on a board. DS is a year old and only just walking so will still need a stroller for some time to come.

Current have a Bugaboo Donkey but I no longer use second seat on it as DD stands on board or walks so I want something smaller and more light weight.

I also have a maclaren but never use it as I find it impossible to push it with one hand.

So I will I like the micralite and is it easy to manoeuvre and fold. And storage?
Thanks

I loved my micralite strolle light with a good fold. The only fault was it tipped very easily you literally could not hang anything on the handle bar. However I'm guessing a buggy board would prevent this anyway. I ended up with stroller weights on the front wheels which worked fine. This was 7 years ago though so an older model probably.

Thank you TT. That sounds very promising.

I dont hang anything of handle bars at the mo because DD uses the board so not something I would worry about and the maclaren is the same. It just tips over if you hang anything off the back.

Storage on bugaboo is decent but the rain cover is so large it takes up most of the room. I saw that the micralite has a small pouch which stores the rain cover which would leave most of the basket under Neath free for stuff. Is it reasonably large??

I love our micralite but the basket is so small it's almost unuseable

I have both a Superlite Fastfold and a Toro here and they are fab! I have done two big long day trips out - one each - with picnics, changing stuff, spare clothes, drinks etc and everything fitted underneath. The basket is a really good size! My MN friends didnt believed me until I showed them the photos! I prefer the seat on the Toro - its much much better and IMHO worth the extra money. But we took the Superlite Fastfold on lots of small trains so it was fab to simply fold quickly and put in a carriage. I haven't found any stability issues - in fact they feel really sturdy. We have hung the odd carrier bag off the handles. These are both brand new models BTW. After having a Zapp and a Yezz, both of which tipped on us, it was refreshing to have something small and quick to fold that felt sturdy. TBH though I have my eye in the Twofold - the one with the buggy board / second seat / huge bag option. I was always a bit dubious about the Micralites but I am really really glad I tried them. I would happily keep the Toro. The fold is do neat and I love the way it freestands neatly. Oh and it's one of the few pushchairs my daughter can hold onto - on one handlebar - without getting in my way or causing drag on the pushchair. All very surprising but good!

Oh and the raincover pouches are genius. I wish all manufacturers woukd make smsll raincivers to fit in hang on / velcro on / strap underneath raincovers so that they dont take up basket space and are ibstantky accessible and easy to put away. However the luminous yellow Toro one was a bit of a surprise!

Tiggywunkle · 22/08/2012 19:55

Excuse all typos! I am on my phone trying to deal with children - probably not the best idea!

Tiggywunkle · 22/08/2012 19:56

Oh and they are easy to push one handed.

JollyBear · 22/08/2012 20:01

Love ours! Very easy to push and hold 3 yr olds hand. It only tips if you remove the child without taking bags off the handle.

skandi1 · 22/08/2012 20:20

Ooooh. Thank you.

It sounds very promising!! I am now very keen on getting one.

Tiggy. I did see the Toro but I think it's more than I need really.

How does it perform in shops??

How do you mean? I can push it one handed. I left my handbag open with my purse to hand in the basket. It's easy to stuff things under but you have to pack well. The basket is basically two triangles / wedge shapes. I could stuff all sorts through the frame though. I only got the front wheels caught once but you do need to be aware the front is wider.

skandi1 · 22/08/2012 22:21

Tiggy. Thanks. That's sort of what I wanted to know. The pushing one handed and being able to stuff quite a bit in the basket.

Does it turn really easily?? And also easily if you are pushing it one handed around tight spaces in shops?

Thanks

I can't answer that one fully enough as its not something I would really do much. Both have been fine in small gift / icecream shops / turning in disabled toilets. I think the front wheels sticking out really are the only issue, but conversely the rear is so narrow. I tend to steer with one hand on the centre bar rather than the handles.

skandi1 · 22/08/2012 23:06

Tiggy. Thanks. It sounds like it manouvres well in small spaces.

You have been really helpful. Thank you Smile
