Can I use P&T cocoon in a mountain buggy duet?

I love the phil and teds newborn cocoon and would love to use one for my baby due in the next few weeks.

But we bought a mountain buggy duet which only comes with a bassinet.

Has anyone successfully used a cocoon in a mountain buggy?

I plan to use one with my mountain buggy double terrain, but I know the seats are wider on that than the duo. I will secure it somehow to prevent it popping out by accident. Not quite sure how to do that though. Possibly with the handles or even do up the harness over the cocoon.

Why are you not using the bassinet? A carrycot is way better than strapping a cocoon in unless for some reason the bassinet isn't practical?

Cost is the reason for me tiggy as I already have a cocoon, plus with the terrain if there is a carrycot on, the one in the seat has no raincover. Plus they are in use for such a short amount of time.

The bassinet is is a funny position - too far forwards. I reckon dd1 will be in there fiddling with dd2. I'd much rather have her tucked into the laid down position and the cocoon allows you to do that and take it out easily too.

There is a mountain buggy cocoon but of course it's expensive and it's for one of their other prams..

valiumqueen how would the cocoon attach into a p+t? Are there extra fittings in the pram itself? Interesting point about width too. I need to find one locally and test run it I think.

And yes cost is a factor too.

Thanks both for replying.

On a PnT the main seat is reclined fully, although not totally flat, then the second seat fits on top. The cocoon slides into the 'cave' under the second seat (feet first), and there is a 2in bit of material above where the head is that stops it sliding out hopefully, plus the slight incline.

I think the mountain buggy cocoon is more cosy toes like, and I like the small box-like containment of the PnT cocoon as mine will be a winter baby.

I did the same thing in the out n about and it worked brilliantly

olympic good to know. Did you secure it in any way?

Sorry I thought from the way you wrote that it was coming with the bassinet ie you needed something extra to put inside - which didn't make sense. I would use a Bugaboo cocoon - you can pick them up on EBay - and one will last you a good 10 months or more.
