Taking buggy on flight

We have a Maclaren stroller that we will be taking on holiday. A quick question, do many people use a buggy bag or check buggy in as is? Don't want it to get trashed? Thanks.

I don't use a buggy now, but previously I've taken it to the plane door where its been taken off me by the ground staff and put in the hold.

We handed ours over at the gate, too. It was OK at the other end.

Take to plane door or check in and use the trunki

or get a realy cheap buggy.
airline/airport staff are sometimes really rough with things. I have seen them drop the pushchairs from the gangway down on the tarmac...no wonder ours is wonky...

Thank you. Will take to the gate and hope it arrives in one piece!

I use a buggy bag and check it in - I find it a bit of a faff at the gate especially if you have to get on a bus to the actual plane, then collapse the buggy at the airplane steps in the pouring rain with the braying mob behind you trying to mow you down, hello Krakow

Also, it means I can stash stuff in the cosytoes (lego, blankets, nappies, wipes, you name it Grin )

I bought a buggy bag for our Maclaren and put it in the bag at the gate.
