Pushchairs
Oyster

Hi all seen an oyster pushchair for the first time today I really like it. We were thinking of a slivercross surf or an iCandy cherry anyone know which is best or why the oyster is reasonable priced compared to others?

We bought the oyster 2 years ago and absolutely love it. At the time it was at the top of the Which recommended list. It was an added bonus that it was reasonably priced. One vote here definitely in favour of the oyster!

I love my Oyster, It's light and compact. Customer service is fab too, I buckled the front wheel on our crappy uneven drive and they sent me new bolts after a 30 second phone call.

We've had ours 2 years. Love it. And as above, excellent customer service. Buy it!

I've had my oyster for 20 months. One myth I'd like to dispell is that it's small for older toddlers. Firstly it's not, secondly you can move the hood up the seat to make even more headroom. It's fantastic value for money IMO and I'm very glad we bought it. It's staying for DC2 and I've order a ride on board for shorter trips when DD's feeling cooperative!
I've never tried the surf or cherry so can't compare.

I have had both the Oyster, Surf and Cherry here at the same time. I personally would forget the Surf...lots of reasons - weird (but neat) fold, huge seat that does squash flat - annoying in the car or house to store, the front wheels get stuck anywhere that isn't smooth, rubbish storage, horrible canvas type harness that comes off each time and needs threading back on...and more. But the seat is huge and it pushes nicely on the flat.
I like the Oyster a lot. One of the big advantages is that it folds with the seat on in either direction. The hood slides up for an older child. Fab basket. Narrow and easy to use etc but I don't like the seating positions - my two didn't sit right in it. We had the Mutsy Evo which has a seat unit which feels similar to the Oyster and that has an extra recline position to give a lie flat seat and sit upright setting and after that, I much prefer it although you lose some other things.
My preference is the Cherry. It's so light, easy to use, good seat, good basket, can be pulled along with baby under one arm and seat threaded on your other arm. I prefer a two piece seat as unless the seat fod in situ you end up turning it round anyway. The fabrics are lovely, fab to push. I love it.
But there's not a lot in them...

We have an oyster, but no experience of any others. Not had any problems with it. As far as off road is concerned, there's no suspension on it so it may be a bit bumpy. Pushed DD on uneven block paving the other day, her little head was wobbling!

You can buy rear air wheels for it now, but I've not tried them.
