Which buggy board for Mountain Buggy?

Hoping someone can help. I know MB used to recommend a Kiddy Board but I can't find one anywhere, I gave ours away after my first child didn't need it anymore, but now I need one for my second to stand on! It's an Urban model, bought about 2007 iirc, and I liked that I didn't kick the board or have to stretch my arms over it. I don't like the look of the scooter thing they have now, ds has a scooter already and it seems silly to get one when I could cobble together the same thing with our Mini Micro and a piece of string (well, I couldn't, but ykwim) Wink
I also loved that the Kiddyboard was so easy to detatch and just fling in the basket- all the alternatives seem too big to be able to do this. The only ones that look to come close are the newer Bugaboo ones or a Jane one. Would either fit the MB? or should I just make him walk?

I had it in my head they did their own but they only show the scooter one. So I'm in the same position as you now as dd3 will be 2.4 ish and will struggle with a scooter if tired etc.

I have been using a sling for the 3 month old and ds has been in the MB, and really it works quite well, I can recline the MB all the way at the start of the day and take the baby out to put in the sling when ds gets tired. But there are just times I wish I didn't have a baby strapped to my chest! Especially when it's already hot. It is a Moby though so pretty hot anyway, I'm still waiting for her to grow into the Ergo which might be cooler. I'm wondering if a secondhand Kiddyboard is the only answer. I can't complain really, our MB is like a tank it's lasted us so well, I just wish they'd not discontinued the Kiddyboard. The scooter just doesn't strike me as a good idea, but maybe that's because I've not seen one in the flesh. I've tried a friends Phil and Teds and the children seemed happy enough but by god was it heavy

The Freerider is really heavy for the child to use as a scooter plus its wider for them to cope with with terrible steering even for a Micro Scooter whizz. It wobbles badly as a board too.

So I need to look for a kiddy board too then?

The new version of the kiddy board looks more complicated to fit but it says it does.

Lascal maxi board fits brilliantly. Used it on my urban for the half hour walk to preschool and back, loads of room for my tall dd, didn't get in my way or kick it, would walk literally miles with it.

I've been using it recently on my swift (urban just too big for us) with big urban rear wheels on it as not able to drive at the min due to an eye op. dd is obs too big/old for a board but being the school holidays we are very limited otherwise and a 45 min walk somewhere, play and walk back is a lot for her legs. Can't recommend the board on mb enough Smile

Forgot to say I bought a free rider and it was dreadful. I thought the idea was you didn't walk to the side as it is narrow - you do, useless as a scooter. Genius concept but in reality it does not work.
