Pushchairs
giving birth on Friday - no pushchair - please help!
Wearsuncream · 08/08/2012 19:28
As per the title - havent got myself into gear properly due to variety of ishoos - please can someone help!
My criteria:
Buggy/pushchair/stroller required from birth onwards
Could it be both rear AND forward facing - but dont really want a carry cot thingy as no room in boot
Ideally can take a car seat in it -(we already have a maxi cosi cabriofix seat)
Lightweight and easy to fold etc pretty important
Shopping space underneath a good thing
Any advice welcome - please be gentle with my lack of knowledge/organisation.

Bugaboo bee ticks all your boxes except the shopping basket, which is pretty small.

Just ordered the cossato giggle comes with everything you need. However I would wait and see what you need before you buy. Too many of us buy the wrong thing. There are so many new ones coming in the next 2 months I would say wait and see or even buy/borrow a big pram to get you through or use a sling so you can make a rational decision.

Uppababy Cruz (fold is pretty easy but not small)
Mutsy Evo
Both fit your criteria
BJ City Mini fits your bill except the rear facing part.

bugaboo frog - i have one for sale (well i have one, somewhere that i really should drag out and put on ebay) but i dont think i could have it ready by friday ;) Seriously though, this was great pushchair. It had the carry cot with it but if you are putting a car seat in it, wont you use that when you are out so you can leave the carry cot at home? I liked having the carry cot at birth but she was in the pushchair bit from about four months.

Thanks everyone - budget is ideally under £200 and we've got a bigish seven seater but smallish boot - I just want it to not take over my whole car!!
Nanny01 · 09/08/2012 12:39
Same position as you in termsof car. Something that folds in half like the baby jogger would be good used with a car seat. Would the £200 have to include the car seat? Bjcm for just over that amount but wouldn't include the rain over coseytoes that you would need. The cassato giggles circa 333 but comes with everything it needs and is rear facing with carrycot, coseytoes toes, rain cover, pram bag. Also 4 years warranty, I like that bit. Cossato pushchairs seem to come with a lot at the mo.
Would you need to have the rear seats down? You will have more options if you can use the whole width of the car rather than the equivalent of the space of one seat. I normally have both seats down (number 6 & 7) when the whole family aren't with?
If you can there is the njoy bubble that is an umbrella fold stroller that rears faces and is within your price range, muted date is 13th August. It is really clever stroller.

Do you have a sling? If so, then you don't need to panic. Many of us have got it wrong without panic-buying so it's very easily done!
The baby jogger city mini is brilliant. They come up very often on eBay if it's outside your price range (although boots frequently have offers). There are soft carrycots, or I think a lot of people use cocoons or a Graco one which is soft but will still parent face.
I must confess, I am a baby jogger addict and have both the city mini and summit xc.
