Hi, basically I like the look of this and it seems to be what we want/need, but would love to hear others' opinions - whether you've bought it, are thinking to buy it or tried it but decided not to buy.
I don't live in the UK, and am so far not liking the local brands of push chair (too low etc.).
If I was to buy the Silver Cross it would be off the Internet and I'd have no chance to try before buying, so am particularly interested in how it handles etc.
Has anyone used it with older children? I will be using from birth (first child due end of October), but am looking for something that'll last.
We are not planning to buy the carry cot as the lie-flat option seems to be perfectly suitable from birth, and we probably won't get the car seat as we're thinking to buy a separate, longer-lasting one.
Thanks in advance!

"I wouldnt buy the Surf....lots of reasons but the storage is rubbish, the fold / unfold is just odd. The front wheels are so tiny they get stuck everywhere, the seat unit is huge to store - it won't squash flat whereas the chassis itself is really very neat. No adjustable footrest. If you don't use the carrycot then the snug insert is very on the surface of the seat plus the straps cut in around the side. I woud definitely buy a carrycot. The fabric straps are a nightmare. The lower bits pop off everytime you undo / go to do the harness up plus the fact they are a canvas type material means they fold under do it slowly gets harder to thread them back on again!
The positives - its got a huge seat, nice liner, comes with parasol (for what it's worth) and looks pretty. But there's far better pushchairs out there."

Lol re the quote :)
I stand by it though :)
There's better out there. It looks gorgeous though....and if it was tidied up then it could be great but it's the small attention to detail that lets it down.

Thanks guys, sorry I didn't see this before starting a new thread!
Unfortunately, imported brands are very limited here, so not much else is available.Confused
Tiggywunkle, you seem very well-informed, how do you know all this stuff?? I know nothing!

You learn by using - using particular pushchairs and different pushchairs, and learning what's good and not, and what works in real life and not on a shop floor!

Where are you based?

Is there a second hand market for pushchairs? You might get more variety available and, as Tiggy says, you can buy something and it doesn't matter so much if it's not for you as you can sell it on.

Well, I hope to only buy one (preferably to last for about 3 kidsGrin), so I appreciate your knowledge!

Daisybell, I'll check out the second hand market, thanks. Smile
