Lightweight buggy for holiday

We're going away for the first time with DS, who will be 11 months when we go. At the moment we've only got a Quinny Buzz, but might that be a bit bulky to travel with? If so, does anyone have any suggestions for lightweight buggys which would be suitable for a city holiday with an 11 month old?

What is your budget?

rezzle · 22/07/2012 15:23

Oops, sorry! I think no more than £150, but if the most suitable is slightly more expensive I'm sure I could find one second hand.

I was thinking the petite star zia or mothercare equivalent, you need to check the recline on it though.

or a maclaren quest.

petite star zia

These are absolutely fantastic and massively under rated and I don't think you can buy them new in the UK anymore.

REally light, easy to steer even with a large toddler in, huge basket, lays flat for sleeping, generous hood

I'm a pushchair addict so am comparing to the like of bugaboo, buzz etc - it's good!

The quicksmart easy fold?

rezzle · 22/07/2012 15:40

They both look really good, thanks. Do you know anything about the Maclaren Triumph?

Yes they are fine, it's a pain trying to get to the basket when baby is reclined for sleeping.

frustratedpants · 22/07/2012 16:27

Bebe confort streety. Reclines. Easy access basket. Parent and front facing. Small fold.

kittybloom · 22/07/2012 16:43

I would also recommend the maclaren quest

We bought the maclaren globetrotter which was dead cheap from mothercare. Doesn't suit us for everyday use but perfect for the odd weekend away on the train or plane. We don't drive so pack light and this is pretty basic but works for us. Good luck

Thanks for all of these suggestions, will go and investigate :)

Maxi Cosi Noa and the Quinny Yezz are both fab too. Or consider a second hand Baby jogger city mini or B-Agile? I liked my Quinny Zapp / Xtra too.

I've only just come across your post, but what about the Zeta Vooom?

I purchased one of these for my daughter and I absolutely love it. It is very compact and lightweight and you they only cost around £60.
